In 1910 Michigan had a 39 win lead on Nebraska (now 22) and a 40 win lead on Texas (now 0)....

Because chat boards thrive on hate. But Nebraska and Oklahoma don't hate each other. There was nothing better than playing a game in Lincoln or Norman and both teams walking off the field telling each other "Hawt damn you guys hit hard! Great game. Good luck to y'all in your bowl game. See ya next year!" The fans were shaking each other's hands and the visiting fans couldn't buy a drink that night.....win or lose. It was just something special.

It's like your best girl ran off with some a-hole who doesn't deserve her. I hold out a faint hope that realignment some day might let us play the Huskers again every season. A guy can always dream. In the meantime I hope they start to rule in the B1G.

I don't know how Nebraska ever recruits well enough to become a national powerhouse again.

How the fuck did this thread turn into a competition between Nebraska, Texas, and Michigan?

Well we were just posting facts and figures when all of a sudden a butthurt Ohio State fan comes in and says something about some shit about how Ohio State had better stats and it was obvious that he still hadn't accepted his defeat by Nebraska very well. Then an Oklahoma fan pointed out that it was a way more difficult path because of playing both Texas and Nebraska every year as compared to just Playing Michigan. Then the Ohio State fan pulls 1950 out of his ass because he doesn't know jack shit about CFB history. Then he said that Michigan, Texas , and Nebraska had similar numbers. Then we pointed out this.

National Championships since 1950
Michigan 1
Texas 4
Nebraska 5

Which absolutely proved the original Oklahoma fan's point.
Then the Ohio State fan disappeard.
Go figure.

Don't sell Mike Riley short. He can turn it all around with a some lucky breaks signing Pennsylvania, Ohio and California 4* players who turn into studs. Ohio State will be a good measure for the Huskers. If they start playing the Buckeyes tough then there is definitely hope that Nebraska will claw its way back to the top. And I hope we get to hook it up with them in the CFP when that happens.

How the fuck did this thread turn into a competition between Nebraska, Texas, and Michigan?

An Oklahoma poster made the claim to an Ohio St poster that playing Nebraska and Texas every year was tougher than playing Michigan. The Ohio St poster claimed they were one in the same.

Oklahoma's played Nebraska on the regular since 1919
Oklahoma's played Texas on the regular since 1912
Ohio St's played Michigan on the regular since 1918

Well use Michigan's 1918 as the starting point. Radios were introduced into households (1920), Talk won't be introduced into movie theaters for another 9 years (1927).

Total Wins since 1918....

1) Alabama - 752
2) Oklahoma - 737
t3) Texas - 735
t3) Notre Dame - 735
5) Southern Cal - 729
6) Tennessee - 718
7) Nebraska - 710
8) Ohio St - 708
9) Michigan - 698
10) Penn St - 695

Yeah, I think Oklahoma had the tougher road and the most success of the 5 in question.

Originally someone pointed out how Oklahoma was going to run away with this vote. I pointed out that even though it's obvious they have a better history than Nebraska, so does OSU and yet somehow Nebraska beat them out on here. Then I pointed out that actually the facts would show that OSU is a more storied program than either Oklahoma or Nebraska and the shit hit the fan with everyone else. Sorry guise.

Oklahoma is the only team on there who was tasked to play two Top 10 bluebloods a year since forever.

I won't think twice about voting them over Notre Dame.

Nebraska crushed Ohio St in the voting. It was pointed out to you that even without the Nebraska poster's vote, Ohio St still loses.

3 Nebraska fans have homered this vote
4 have voted Oklahoma.

Perhaps it is you who fails to have an open mind.

Yeah, none of that changes the fact that OSU is a more storied program than Nebraska according to actual facts and not an anonymous online message board poll vote. That was my original point. Even though Oklahoma is clearly more storied, it's no guarantee they win the vote because people vote for different reasons.
