Cool idea for a present, but I'm sorry, giving an opposing player a present for years of making your team look like a schmuck, is the height of gayness. Especially if you do it right before he makes you look like a schmuck again. And yes, I'm aware the sox are planning some sort of celebration for mo too. Hope he gets booed instead. Celebrate after he retires.

Could. Not. Possibly. Agree. More.

Congrats on the sweep of the Padres. We deserved it and I'm beginning to get a clearer picture of this team. What's amazing is that after the horrible last 15 games, we're still right there in the division. But without pitching help, we'll never win a playoff series. This could have been our opportunity to go up by 8-10 games in the division and we let it go. :bawling:

I don't think pitching is the issue there...as always, it's the complete lack of any offensive punch. It's tough to make the Yankees lineup look good in comparison...but that padres lineup manages it with ease...

Anyone else stunned by teh Seguin trade, and the rumors he was so busy getting shifaced in Toronto, during the playoffs, that he showed up to the rink 3 straight days with the same clothes on?

I think this is one in 5 years we're going to REALLY regret...

I was shocked, but like you said everything I'm seeing is character issues.

He's only 21 though, you have to work with the kid IMO. Eriksson is a good pickup though. Great two-way player, don't know much about the prospects they got.

Thinking the same thing...he's 21, you knew you were investing in a kid when you drafted him, and then extended him to big money...

But, it could be a case of we're just getting the tip of the iceberg..

10:27 and no hammer gloat of cardinals blown save yet??......

The only problem is that Edward Mujica is my boy. His team is #3 on my hate list but I pull for him. It's a sheer delight to see the Cards faltering and the Giants flat on their fat asses though.

We're second in the division in runs scored and basically worst in runs allowed (Rockies have allowed 5 more at Coors, meaning we're much worse). We need a solid starter and for Quentin to stay hot.

That said, I love this team and with the sole exception of Huston Street there's not a single guy that fans don't really like. Huston Street has never been embraced because he's taking our $7M and losing games, all while doing everything in his power to make it obvious that he just doesn't care one bit what fans, teammates or management thinks.
