here's to hoping the plan is to lead them to a 12 win season and enough ping pong balls so when Stern rigs the draft in their favor it doesn't look to obvious.

Garrin Cecchini....22 years old, blew up A+ and was promoted to AA a few weeks ago. Some, including myself, were really intrigued to see how he'd handle his first mid season promotion and the advanced pitching of the Eastern League.

.372/.509/.535 over his first 12 games, 43 At bats...

50/50 he's the opening day 3rd basemen in Boston next year...and he could very well join Bogaerts in the top 10 of prospect lists. After not being included in Keith Law's top 100, Law is no set to include him in his midseason top 25....

What a year this kid is having...get on board...he'll be here soon.

if WMB would just hit, he could go to 1B...with Cecchini at 3B and Bogaerts at SS...fun to dream on that scenario

The problem with this? Is where do you fit in Iglesias?

I think WMB is getting traded at some point, cecchini is a more complete player..

They have a ton of depth at 3rd (assuming bogaerts is moved from short)....should be interesting...

I'd like to thank God this morning for the Minnesota Twins.

The one constant through the years-they are the cure for what ails the Yankees.

We need to figure out a way to get the Twins in the AL east

No doubt.

They gave Mo the most clever going away present to date to start the series (the rocking chair made of broken bats), then proceeded to give the Yankees the better gift of righting the ship when they really could have gone off the rails.

They're alright, those twinkies!

Cool idea for a present, but I'm sorry, giving an opposing player a present for years of making your team look like a schmuck, is the height of gayness. Especially if you do it right before he makes you look like a schmuck again. And yes, I'm aware the sox are planning some sort of celebration for mo too. Hope he gets booed instead. Celebrate after he retires.
