Washington has a player or players to offer in this possible deal that could be dealt and the hit isn't terrible. Love Payne, Love Ioannidis, but if it takes one or both, Washington could more easily replace them than Sweat or Young.
Thought I read somewhere that Andrew Luck may return. Any interest?

Nope,

At 31 he still has some years left but I'd be concerned about his reasons to return for as long as he was still in the game. Money, boredom, even a hunger to compete and win at the highest level would all be questioned by whether or not his heart was in it after a tough game and the rigors of completing a season. Does Indy still hold his rights?

Coach, no one, I repeat no one will part ways with Young or Sweat. Some teams have 1 of them rushing the passer, aka Aaron Donald. Some teams have none like them rushing the passer. The WFT has 2 freaks rushing the passer in CY & MS and trust me, those two are going no where anytime soon. I will certainly eat crow if that happens but the odds are a million to one.

Agree DT's way easier to replace
Unless their name is Aaron Donald who was likened to two DEs yesterday.

So who is Allen and Payne compared to? Exactly those 2 would be easy to replace
I confess to being a bit of a Richard there. Very few DTs get sacks the way Donald does. I like the WTF's DLine very much and would like to keep all four young guys as well as Settle and Ioannidis. The fact that they are all 1st round picks whose rookie contracts will be coming to a close in consecutive years will make it hard. Sweat comes due in three years and Young in four years. Maybe you can keep them together for 2 or 3 years but the chances of paying all four is very unlikely.

Easy to replace? Not exactly but Ion man could take those reps and possibly Settle but you need depth also. So many nuances to playing effective dline play with your teammates. It's not exactly 1 on 1 like you seem to think it is. Allen and Payne are instrumental to what Young & Sweat do/accomplish.

Dt’s are easy to replace and that is why it will be young or sweat not Payne .
And the jets and dolphins can beat that offer

You are right dad but if I'm GM, I'm not parting with Sweat or Young. If the Texan's insist without truly evaluating a Payne or Allen and yes, they can have any other starter besides Curl then the discussion should stop.

thats what i am trying to get at . the cost is too big and with having to resign allen and sherrf before you go heavy in FA . also keep in mind both your OTs are fa's at the end of next season and you are not sure if charles can fill one of the spots and drafting an OT in round 2 this year could be dicey

It's all a risk. It could fail or it could succeed. I'm not saying roll the dice but why not inquire. Make an offer the WFT can live with and if it is not enough for the Texans, then move on.

The only guy really available is Jimmy G and the answer is NO.
If Carr is made available then explore but me personally, I don't like the fit in WASH.
Stafford is now spoken for.
Cousins will not be available. If he were, yes, I would take him back in a second. That may surprise some. :clap2:

I never said don’t inquire , but he will price himself out of our range ( the Texans GM )

Tired of the middle of the road QB since there have been no plans to bolster the O-Line hogs style, my choice...PASS!!

Who do you like that's pro ready now and also would be available at 19?
who says it has to be at 19 ? who says it has to be this year ?

i thought if we made the playoffs this stuff would go down . we forget we are a 7 win team with one victory over a winning team , ONE . 4 of our wins were against dallas and the train wreck in philly , another vs the bengals who played without their starting qb half the game

so i have to think that trotting out division winner and now we are in the " win now mode " is a recipe for failure

i think jones could fit in for us but i would wondering if i take him at 19. he is accurate , will know the offense (exp) and i think he can make the throws a KC could .

trask is another guy who could fit in but he would need more work
