Sorry to post this, but the Heat badly whiffed on Dame - In large part due to sheer arrogance

Going to be honest, as a fan of the Lions/Timberwolves/Rockies, I have no idea how I would react to finally seeing any of my teams getting a title. I would probably be so insufferable I would have to change my name to HurricaneMeebs.
Yeah, but this guy has always been a douche bag. I never give him the benefit of the doubt because he sucks. @HurricaneDij39 needs to keep his diabetes in check and stop perving after high school girls.

He did everything but knock on their door personally. But Miami failed to work in good faith w/ Portland prior to free agency, and it ultimately cost them Dame…

Pat Riley was extremely smart to pass on that deal

Bam averages 20 ppg 9 rpg 3 apg and is a 26 year old center

Damian is 32 ppg 4.8 rpg 7.3 apg - which is impressive, but he is 33 years old and is locked in to

45 million 48 million 48 million and a player option for 63 million and would be 36 to 37 years old by then

Defensively speaking Miami came close with Bam without a player like Damian who is an older player - I will bet you that by the time he has the choice of picking up that option of the fourth year - whoever is stuck with him will rejoice if he declines because there are very few players worth that when they 36 years

I suggest you back off of smoking that crack

In addition - that would knock Herro out of the rotation and he is averaging 20 ppg- they would have to point guards with no center

This is a bold-faced lie

The Heat can trade 2027 and 2029 1sts if the 2025 pick conveys, otherwise the available picks are 2028 and 2030 (which is all that could be promised at this time). 2028 is how many years from 2023? I know math can be tough....

the problem is Bam has never grown a pair in the playoffs and Riley is working on borrowed time- and Butler is aging and has his own durability issues. It is all going to come crashing down at some point- whether that is one year or two years - or at most 3 years---- but its all going to be razed to the ground.

His rebounds and points per game are pretty good - for a center - those assists need to come up for sure - six years in the league and he is probably as good as he ever will be - but for a center - coming behind a Damian Lilliard -or Herro - I think is a great combination - Lillard for Bam and Herro would be the only way it could work - and Damien is too old for me - I would want to build younger - but for Riley to go all out for that one championship knowing he will have to rebuild the next year - I get it and I think the Lakers might do the same - one championship every five years is not bad

This seems like a regurgitation of 2014, another prosphecy that just never came to fruition.

Wiggy's takes on the teams he hates (Heat, Lakers, Warriors) are always wrong

yah was really wrong about Wiseman and Whiteside.

if you have an overated cock ring of a center that has a last name that starts with W - its a good bet hes gonna suck.

guess who is still getting dem checks? Tristan Thompson. Guess who isn't? Whiteside.

Wiseman looking like your chance to be right for the first time. Still not a done deal (but looking good for you)

That will make Bill Wennington sad

I'm still sad the Warriors couldn't win again after KD left

You're going to lean on Tristan lol? He managed 4 games in 21/22 and a whopping 33 minutes last season.

Whiteside is still getting checks, just in Puerto Rico.

the title isn't wrong

multiple hoop writers said Miami thought eventually they'd cave and do what Dame wanted.

60 million a year at age like 36 and 37. No thanks. Milwaukee made sense tho

Yes and no. That assumption definitely bit the Heat in the ass...but to be fair, that's what everyone thought would happen. The Bucks deal seemed to blindside everyone, even Woj and Shams.

They never made anything close to their best offer

OP is correct
