One of my first 8-tracks was the self-titled Molly Hatchet debut album. Played that thing pretty much non-stop. The only problem with 8-Tracks was when a song went on too long for the track, and they cut it off in the middle. Their cover of the Allman Brothers' "Dreams" was like that, it cut off in the middle of a rockin' guitar break, just when I was gettin my boogie on

Right around the 5:25 mark is where it faded out on one track, and then it picked back up on the next track somewhere around the 5:15 mark. For years, I thought they were actually TWO breaks in the song, until I bought the cassette.

This version is, in so many ways, superior to the ABB original. Yeah, I said it...

Yep...could only carry around about 8-10 of those bigger cartridges. With cassettes, you could put about 30-40 of them in the same amount of space in one of those soft-side cases.

To those of you who drove Omar away--I hope you're happy. In less than 2 days the once vibrant Phillies and MLB sections of Sportshoopla has turned into something resembling one of those rural radio stations that you run across where people call in and reminisce about the old days and try to sell their old junk.

That reminds me-I have a 13" Console television set with the really nice grain wood and the record player on top. I'm asking $75 for it, but I'd be willing to consider trading it for a hunting rifle of equal value
