A lot of schools claim National Titles they probably don't deserve.

A few schools don't claim titles most wouldn't blame them for claiming.

What UCF could have done against the Top teams last year will always be a mystery. It's sort of a shame they weren't given a chance against a better team than Auburn.

It's only a mystery if you're in the camp that doesn't think Saban is the GOAT. The rest of us were not impressed by a win over Auburn and an injured Kerryon Johnson. With him they beat Georgia and Alabama at Jordan Hare. Without him healthy, they got trounced by Georgia and beaten by UCF in Atlanta. It would be like pretending that UCF was the same without Milton.

The problem is demanding a school take a huge financial hit to go play in their tiny stadium when they are not a known commodity and are just as likely to be bad as they are good.

I love the fact that UCF fans were absolutely trashing Oklahoma and Notre Dame and saying they'd be a match for Bama and Clemson. LSU has the 67th best offense in the country (best UCF has played) and just put up almost 600 yards of offense on them. LSU has the 30th best defense in the country and only had 1 defensive starter out there, yet held them to 230 total yards.

That is the biggest obstacle teams like UCF have. Personally, I can't wait for the AAC to be disbanded or at least robbed of it's best schools and to see those schools added onto a P5 conference.

But a program like UCF has to prove they aren't just a one hit wonder first, imo.

Honestly, they didn't. I don't know of any of those non-P5 teams that ever proved they deserved their high ranking they got by beating up on creampuffs when they finally played someone ranked in their bowl games. Miami of Ohio got trounced, Cincy got stomped, WMU got beat pretty handily.

So until Auburn tried mailing it in and got beat, there was no reason to give UCF any more consideration than they got.
