you guys are probably not gonna believe me, but i WANT you guys to get healthy as you can be on both sides of the ball. believe it or not i actually was kinda disappointed that Clady's out for the year. the fact is i want you AND us to be the best we can be for those match-ups coming up between both our teams...

I totally agree with this. Honestly I can't wait to play the Chiefs for two reasons. One, I want to see just how good our offense and how good your defense is. And two, I want to shut up all the Chiefs fans around here that think they're as good as the Broncos.

Many don't like Tony Carter, but against a team's 3rd and 4th WR he is more than capable. Against Dez Bryant, not so much.....

Biggest problem I have with Carter is he seems averse to tackling. But he's a good 4th corner.

I fully expect the Chiefs to win the game at Arrowhead. In fact, whenever the schedule comes out I chalk that one up as a loss every year. They're tough to beat at home.

For the 1000th time I agree the defense will get better with guys back and they did have some more injuries yesterday during the game but the defense hasnt been good against the pass this year period. Noone is panicing so dont put words in my mouth but facts are facts this defense has looked like shit this year. Remember the Ravens playoff game last year and it hasnt improved at all. Yes it will get better but if you think a 29th rank defense is ok then more power to ya.

It's not a concern yet. Half the freaking defense was out! And it was one game. One.

I think maybe you're underestimating just how good Von Miller is. Dude is a one man wrecking ball. He's destructive. I expect the defenses performance to drastically improve once he's back on the field.

A good example of this was his rookie season. Remember how well the Broncos d was playing during that winning streak, then Von gets injured and we had to play without him in Minnesota. Look what happened; the Vikings, who weren't exactly an offensive juggernaut, were practically unstoppable.

I'm just saying, let's withhold judgment on this defense until we get Von back, he really is that much of a difference maker.

Half the defense wasnt out the whole game. They were terrible with harris and Woodyard in as well. People quit with this half crap.

i'm with you. know what this kind of reminds me of? the '97 season, when BOTH clubs were really good. we were 13-3, and you guys were 12-4(and yes i know you guys guys had the better team in spite of that. man that hurts to admit it). i'm kind of hoping it'll be a "do-over" type of season in that aspect. still a lot of season to go, though...

DRC looked like crap as well. Terrence Williams and Cole Beasley looked like All Pro's. Tony Carter and DRC played more games then they have. Dallas doesnt have a great offense.

Dallas has not played great offense consistently all year, but they have some weapons that can make them formidable offensively. Kind of like how we had a bad day defensively, but that doesn't mean that we are a bad defensive team. I think we are probably around middle of the pack, but we figure to get better. We were lucky to play as bad as we did defensively and still win, but I don't think that we will continue to play that bad defensively.

Disagree. They got off to a slow start, but then they went away from the zone and got consecutive stops on defense, first the fumble and then the 3 and out (forcing the only Cowboys punt of the day). Then they lost both Harris and Woodyard and the Cowboys scored touchdowns on EVERY SINGLE ONE of their drives until the last one.

Malibu, nobody is claiming the defense is good or great. The pass defense is now ranked dead last in fact. Obviously nobody thinks that's good. But instead of fretting a defensive ranking, sone of us are willing to consider How and why it is this way.

Think about the situational numbers. The defense had been pretty good on third down. Yesterday was the first time they weren't. In every other game so far the defense had long stretches where they forced a lot of punts. This has allowed the offense to open up leads. Yesterday they were not able to do this for the first time this season. They also were put in a bad spot early when the Offense turned the ball over early in the game.

Still the defense forced one punt and two turnovers, each resulting in points by the offense. And I maintain not every team us going to be able to do what the Cowboys did yesterday. With the Jags next and some key players returning after that, I am willing to bet the Broncos hold at least half their remaining opponents below 20 points, and will only give up 30+ once or twice more all season. In today's NFL that isn't too bad.

:10:

Dallas has the potential of a great offense. They were clicking yesterday, and combined with all of our defensive players out, they were great. No one is saying they will always be that good, just like our defense is not that bad.

And that has usually happens in the third quarter, after the halftime adjustments. I don't think it's a coincidence that we weren't able to do that yesterday without Harris and Woodyard.

Exactly. Hopfully they are back in action next week.

I think a gameike this can be a good wake up call, too. As much credit as I will give the Cowboys, and acknowledging injuries to our own players, this was not a good performance. But this defense has some solid leadership and I fully expect them to rebound and get some confidence back by working the Jags next week. If the defense struggles against Jacksonville I will be concerned. But as bad as yesterday was I am not worried considering the circumstances.

The calm analytical approach. Seems legit/mature to me.......

Better than melting down about it. Anyone who looks at the Cowboys and says they have no weapons outside of Bryant and Witten has no idea what they are talking about.

I'm just glad we got the W.

Fix some things and get healthy. That should be our main concern this week vs the Jags.

Malibu:

I understand your concern, but you need to ask yourself one question: How many times was our defense NOT in control of the game? Because you HAVE to remember that a lot of those stats and points that you're looking up right now are garbage time stats.

Answer: This past week is the ONLY time our defense was not in control. This is why I'm not hitting the "panic" button yet, and why I'm not really concerned yet. Because our defense is effectively stopping the run, and it's been in control of ballgames for most of this season thus far.

Lets see what our "stats" look like once we field a healthy and complete unit.........
