And I have said, If Winston, Mariota, Williams and Cooper are off the board.. .I believe Scherff is the BPA that fits a need. You could debate on White, but then the need factor says take Scherff.

Fowler, Ray and the pass rushers dejour all have glaring holes in thier game that to me make them NOT BPA. And i think the only real reason we are being mocked a pass rusher is because we didnt resign Rak.

That is absolute BS. Try looking at the Big Boards. That's why I pointed those out to you previously. Teams aren't picking people like Fowler simply because they need him. It's because he truly is the BPA there.

Then that is utterly foolish. This draft is filled with o-linemen that can fit our needs well. Will they be as good as Scherff? Maybe not. But they'll be plenty good enough to protect the QB and block for Alf. By trading down, we can get people like Ereck Flowers at OT and La'El Collins at RG to fill out our line. Are you saying that you wouldn't prefer that to selecting a reach like Scherff at #5? Woooowwwww . . .

And try answering the question about Williams. Would you really pass up on him for Scherff?

Since I dont consider him a reach, what are you expecting me to say??

I have said a thousand times. .williams is the best player in this draft. And if he is there, he is the one player I would take Over Scherff.

How much clearer do I have to be on that??

If we can get williams.. fuck Rg3 since i think he is doomed any way. But I also think as a complete player scherff is going to be better than Fowler, Ray and the other Pass Rushers expected to be on the board when we pick.

Okay, you're spinning around in circles now. Yes, Williams might be the best player in the draft. But, if, according to you, Scherff is the top 5 BPA, need would dictate you take Scherff.

I have to go for the time being. Deanpet, please take over. I see Shark has abandoned reliance on the media award thing, which is good.

Based on what? Krusty the Klown has his own opinions too. Wanna ask him about his draft board?

Based on realizing that the vast majority tend to have their heads up their asses this time of year. When Rg3 was considered the bees knees around here, wanna take a guess who was the lone voice of decent??

Need would dictate you take Scherff over a bunch of suspect pass rushers or a 3rd string WR.

You do not take a need over the best player in the draft.

Take over and do what?? Force me to accept your opinion of players and thier value based on your opinion of the players in question??

Fuck good luck with that. I would ask Skinsdad how well that works out. LOL

1) Try Try Try to trade back for more picks
2) If we stay at #5 take the player who is left on top of Scotty's Big Board. I don't care if that's WR, QB, OT, etc.
3) Repeat BPA

If Scherff is on top of Scot's big board when we draft then take him.

Were you dissenting during the 2012 season? There's various bases for dissent, some good, some bad. Not sure why you dissented, but if you did it in his rookie year, you were wrong then, as you are wrong now on Scherff.

Do you have a track record to cite to? And I'm not referring to the "media" in general, I'm looking at those who've been (or are) NFL personnel guys or have some background in pro scouting, and not those who've got no such background and heave up opinions out their you-know-what. Having said that, some of the "media" often rely on those personnel guys and thus have an opinion better than anyone on this board's. And the consensus of those personnel guys and media types say that Scherff isn't a #5 guy.

Saying you can pick better than those personnel guys is like saying you can pick stocks better than investment bankers and can beat the Vegas oddsmakers. If you or I really could, neither of us wouldt be debating on this board, we'd be owning it.

So, let me ask you this: if Scot McCloughan believes Fowler is our pick at #5 and also pegs Scherff at #13, do you pick yourselves over McCloughan?

McCloughan also believes that RGIII has talent which makes him salvageable and still a potential franchise QB. Disagree there too?

Yes, I can agree there. I'll put my trust in Scotty. If he really believes Scherff is the guy at #5, I'll trust his judgment.

Need would dictate you take Scherff over a bunch of suspect pass rushers or a 3rd string WR.

You do not take a need over the best player in the draft.

So here your logic falls apart. We truly need an OG far more than we need someone on our d-line. And I've gone on record as saying that our top need is a RT and the next is RG. Yet, you'd take Williams (who I agree is the best player in the draft) over a player that ranks right there on top of your big board. When it comes down to a situation where these players are nearly equally ranked, you look to need as qualifying criterion. Based on what you've insisted ad nauseum, that pick should be Scherff.
