Let me also clarify one thing: I'm not saying media awards don't count for anything. I'm saying that they can't be used as the sole metric for valuing a player in the draft.
And you dont think ALL these mock draft have more to do with team need than player value? Or as i have asked numerous times and no one will answer.. is Jamies Winston the best player in this draft?? If you say no, then you are admitting draft order and "value" are nothing more than media spin as well.
I say he goes from 9 to 15. Shark do you want to do top 8?????
I say he goes from 9 to 15. Shark do you want to do top 8?????
But if he an elite talent why wouldn't he go top 8? Every team from 3-8 needs an OT.
NOpe.. because I expect the Skins will go the Sexy route and take another Orakpo, he will either go to the giants or the Rams... and mid way through the season the running bitch line around here will be.. how did we NOT improve the line again.
Shark you are proving redskinsfan and myself point that the Skins will pass on him at #5. There is a reason why the Skins will pass on him at #5
Still can't answer the question, can you: what if the sexy pick is the best pick? And we're not giving up on the o-line. We're going to be taking an OT by the second round. The only issue I've got with the o-line strategy is the contentment with RG position. That is absolutely baffling.
Yea.. stupidity.
Who is a better pick not with standing Cooper?? I have shown you why i think the pass rusher dejours are ALL too iffy to go at five. the only real reasons I have been given for not taking Scherff at five is because we could trade the pick and get more players, or because you simply cant take a guard at five.
No, shark, you're a quasi-Cerrato like thinker where need, not value is a driving force in the draft. Remember that 2008 draft when we got Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas and passed on people like DeSean Jackson and Jordy Nelson? Well, both of those guys fit our 'need' for a big, fast WR, whereas D-Jax was too small and Nelson was too slow. No one is doubting that we need o-linemen. You become Cerrato's clone when you want to use our blue-chip pick based on that need.
Best picks are the OLBs. Those are Beasley, Fowler, and Ray. As 'sexy' picks, they each have questions themselves. But they are still higher BPAs than Scherff.
Let me ask you another question, not that you've answered others I've posed: if Williams is there at five, do we pick him? And why would we do that if d-line is far lesser of a need than o-line?
And how about another question: if we have a shot to draft Scherff at #5, but have a chance to trade down but will miss on Scherff with, say, Cleveland's two first rounders, do you make that trade?
And you become Dan Snyder when you say a Blue Chip pick has to be a playmaker instead of whats best for the entire team
And i have shown you why NONE of them is worthy of a top 5 pick.
And no I dont make the trade because Im not worried about how exciting our draft looked. Im going to take what I personally believe to be a Blue Chip Offensive line that I can build my line with.
BUt I have said repeatedly if Williams is there yes we take him because he is in fact the best player in the draft period.
No, I said we need to have the BPA that fits a need. I said that about Trent Williams in 2010. He was the best guy (just over Okung) that year that fit our huge need at LT. You're just making things up now.
