Well good morning all!..

What a football weekend...because it was THAT weekend that happens every year...all the top teams come tumbling down like Armageddon!

In the voice of Howard Cosell ( Yes dating myself) when Ali took Frazier out....

AND DOWN GOES CLEMSON!....AND DOWN GOES THE HUSKIES! and DOWN GOES WAZZU! ..AND DOWN GOES WAR EAGLE!..and of course DOWN GOES THE RED RAIDERS in the second greatest comeback in WV History..............and yes yours truly thanks to my brother BBW was there to witness it...

So forget about the other shizza I like to throw in I am going straight to my time in Morgantown....

First my one complaint...W...T...F! How does the Book Exchange close at 6pm on Friday night before a Home Game and Homecoming Weekend!..I busted my ass to get there from Washington DC and was beyond pissed they were closed!!!!...

Then I get a text BBW is running behind so I mosey on over to the Mountain State Brewing Company
(Highly Recommend it!) were I automatically feel like I am chill and HOME!..that is where I watched Clemson lose in the Carrier Dome ..great win for the CUSE!..good for them....then next thing you know I am getting text to head to the old Wings and Things on the Westover Bridge ...who knew its now Wing's Ole??..what does that mean anyhow??...Meet BBW there and we make it back to where we are all staying to drink more beer and watch WAZZU get their ASSES kicked!

Saturday, up and out and to a friends tailgate in the Light Blue Lot and the first drink of the day...home made MOONSHINE..with some blue coloring in it.. now I really felt home again...it felt awesome!..(A Slaton10 sentimental moment here) .saw some people I hadn't seen in some time...good stuff!!..

Then onto the game...awesome seats...but like everyone else on a 80 degree day we were roasting out there!!..

Stripe the stadium optics looked awesome...the crowd buzzing...

Then Texas Tech poured cold water on the party like in 20 seconds..

Speaking of cold water for those who don't think TT was worthy of a ranking..you're out of your mind...that team was impressive..really liked their QB..incredibly efficient..their front 7 on defense..more than capable..best Texas Tech team I have seen since Crabtree was there..

First half was crazy...I thought the officials completely took both teams out of rhythm, but TT responded much better than Wv did..but your Ol Pal Slaton10 was wrong..and then right! I said it was unlikley Wv would try and bring pressure because I thought TT would light them up..and they would just drop eight and cut off the short routes...well that is EXACTLY what happened ..got lit up in the first half and then dropped eight in the second half.don't believe it..here it from GIBBY HIMSELF!


So down 18 at half time something funny happens...BBW gets up looks around and yells we have them right were we want them!... of course some people laughed .......but I believed him!

Why?..Because the team has WILL GRIER!...the best QB we have seen in our generation!..He has that Joe Montana cool about him and he NEVER believes he's out of a football game as long as their is time on the clock...unlike Cliff Kingsbury who gave up on his team!


If DAD wants to know what kind of HC DANA is ....He is a coach with the ability to rally his team from a 18 point deficit!...making sure they did not quit at halftime!..thats GREAT COACHING!

Back to Grier, I got so pissed this morning I emailed the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Committee and told them what kind of fuckup's they are leaving Grier off their list! He is the best QB in the country ...period!

Other things I was pissed about besides the EXCHANGE and the Johnny Unitas Committee...the Students..I mean where did they go after halftime?...GEEZUS!

Game Balls: The White Brother's..what a day for both of them..Simms for making a monster catch down the stretch, forget about the touchdowns..the last pass he caught over the DB was the biggest of the day...and DANA HOLGORSEN..

Great spending the weekend with you buddy! Wild game! I watched it last night with the youngest because I was still in shock in how it ended up going south so suddenly for TT.

Still don't know how it all happened. Might have to watch it again.

17-35... we got 'em right where we want 'em. LOL!!

I didn't feel too bad when it was 28-17 just before the half and we were driving, I knew that at some point our offense would figure their defense out and had we went in 28-24 then...no biggie imo but when they came out and scored in the 3rd and it went 35-17 I thought, Oh boy, this aint good.

What a comeback! Reminded me of the 2005 Louisville classic.

Well needless to say they haven't felt compelled to respond to my well written and articulated email as of yet!

I feel bad for the kid, clearly being black balled by all of these committees I am sure for the PED thing...GEEZUS the kid already paid his dues..he's been nothing but a role model thru the entire thing, could be a great story of how you take ownership and come back stronger than ever....thats why you need to be under the age of 75 to be on these committees to have a say!

Some comments from Kliff Kingsbury about Grier...and what I keep saying about the kid..

“His mobility is really impressive,” Kingsbury said. “He can keep things alive. He hung in there and made some deep in-cut throws with guys barreling down on him. He made some great fade throws under duress. He kept coming. He didn’t get rattled. He was down the whole game. He was hit a bunch, sacked a bunch, but kept standing in there and making really nice throws. Just watching him through the first five games, he’s gotten better each week. You can tell he’s a big-time player.”

Like I have said over and over...the kid NEVER quits as long as there is time on the clock...

Grier certainly took a ton of hits last week. 4 sacks at least, and I don't know how many other times he was hit shortly after releasing the ball.

I hope he can stay healthy enough to finish the year. The OL is regressing as the season moves forward.

I hate to think what the constant pounding might do to him...

Its a good question, I don't think its the OL though at least not the majority of the time..I think its numbers...its like we saw in the Tech game.remember that #11 on the edge and I said Will has to see that guy coming..it was a numbers game...the numbers didn't work sometimes 7 versus 5 in the box with no help especially went they went 4 wide and they tried to get receivers more than 10 yards down field.... if teams keep putting more Defensive players closer to the line of scrimmage and there

Holgorsen did the best job Saturday I have seen from him. As I said last year, he has grown greatly as a HC since he started. I saw a team on fire in the second half, great comeback win. One of the biggest things Holgorsen did was to hire a guy he trusted to run the offense, and concentrate on being HC. Prior to this year, I think he was spending too much time being the OC, rather than the HC. Great to see him growing into the job. Hopefully our team keeps building from that fourth quarter and getting better!

When the opponent has a number advantage, I thought the rule for the QB was to make the extra guy miss and get it out of your hand as quickly as possible?

Rewatching the game, Petteway and Crawford both whiffed on blocking the blitzer. But, Will is starting to take some hits... especially the last two games. BU has a decent DL, and everyone of our remaining opponents does as well.
