Why does Darrell Sheets call himself 'The Gambler", "The Wimp" would be a better title.

Darryl's my favorite. Man, I was addicted to that show for awhile. They find such cool stuff. Texas one is turrrrrrible though.

Yeah, he doesn't get a locker in like half the episodes. I'm sure the show has hurt all of them on the business side (aside from what they make for being on it) b/c so many people are doing this stuff now that didn't years ago. My brother has a friend who does on weekends and he used to get lockers for $100-200 all the time, and now people are out in droves.

Also entertaining, reviews of Jarrod and Brandi's store.

I don't think it's ignoring something b/c someone dislikes your star, its phrasing something in an adult way. I'm going to guess the posts Jimmy has typically read that use "Cindy" are rarely good posts, so he has a good point. He's probably not going to miss many good posts by skipping the ones with Cindy in them.

I hate Jaromir Jagr, but if I'm talking to Flyers' fans, I'm not going to call him Jerkinoff Fagr over and over and expect to be taken seriously.

To each their own, to me he's Cindy and I'm not going to change that since it's not like I'm blantantly attacking him or his character in any way. People can read what they want, I just meant that Cindy and Gina were torn apart in the Flyers- Pens playoff thread, as was Giroux, Hartnell, Schenn and various others it's just part of being a fan.

Yeah, man. I hear ya. Just injecting a little perspective. You're not trolling or anything. I just thought Jimmy had a fair point.

Cindy and Gina were torn apart...

Well, this has promise...

...oh. Oh, okay. Thought it might be a good read when I heard the part about 'ginas getting tore up, but it went a different direction.

The more I think about this signing, the smarter it becomes.

As long as the new CBA does not drastically change the LTIR rules, all the risk is mitigated.

In addition, even if Crosby drops off a bit as the contract progresses (due to age or mor injury issues), 8.7 mil for an 80 point scorer will be the status quo in 4 years, a 60 point scorer in 7 etc.....

Fuck the Pens.....

one small point:

Not ALL of the risk is mitigated. If Crosby gets some sort of nagging injury and cant go on LTIR, it wont be a big deal as long as doesn't happen every year. In addition, if he regresses a ton but refuses to retire of be moved later on, it would be a huge deal. However, I don't see him as that type of player or person.

He is the best played in the NHL and deserves every dime. I cant stand his whiny face but cannot take his talent away from him. I hope his concussion issues are no longer a issue.

I have trouble seeing Suter getting 8+... that would put him in a real elite tier of players. He's good, but not up there with the other 8+ers.

If my team doesn't have a top d-man, I'd give that money to Weber. ;)

You see, I agree, but he's going to get it. There's a lot of competitors out there with a LOT of cap space. Because of that, I think he'll get it. Just the way the market is trending. That's why long term deals are so nice to teams...within about 2 years, you could be vastly underpaying a guy.

I agree some team is going to give Suter 8+ million per on a long term deal. No question about it. He's the top defenseman available & it's not really close. Parise is going to get at least that much. There are so many teams in need of a top 4 D let alone a #1 & a 30 plus goal scoring winger & so few of them available on the UFA market.

meh.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

Not like this wasn't destined to happen from day one.

Good deal Pitt, a healthy Crosby is totally worth it. He'll pay for himself in merchandise revenue/ticket sales/marketing dollars saved/etc no problem.

For what it's worth Crosby's contract is not insured against more concussions. That is considered a pre-existing condition. Burkle/Lemieux must feel pretty confident although 100M to Burkle is like 100$ to you and i.

For Pens, no assurances with Crosby deal | TribLIVE
