Sure, let’s go with that…

but $50M is going to leave a mark
I understand why you feel the way you do. I would be rooting for the Eagles to forget how to manage the cap if I was looking at a scenario where my team was about to eat 11 million to make Zeke go away as they dump another contract on Pollard at RB. You’re investing half of a Hurts yearly salary in what is a plug and play position for the Eagles with little cap allocation while also likely paying Dak what Hurts is making. If I was in the spot I would be rooting like all get out for the Eagles shit to implode.

It will make it easier to manipulate the cap. I didn’t say make it easier. Hard choices will need to be made. I haven’t seen a cap casualty leave the Eagles and perform well for someone else in a long time. I would have to say it was Jeremiah Trotter going to the Redskins back in the early 2000s. The Eagles manage the cap better than most. I’m really shocked that a big football fan like yourself wouldn’t know that about the best franchise in his favorite team’s division.
well as you know the last time you signed a big deal to your QB, your team got worse. End of spin.

Now I do give your GM points for reloading quickly with trades ensech. But you will get worse before getting better. Hard truth.

Also not only are you dealing with a major QB signing which will make Wentz Contract look like a Bargain.
If I am reading your dead cap space right. You have at the moment over 46 mil in dead cap. :surprised: This is what we call kicking the can! I am sure you will resign some of these guys to get it down but they arent coming cheap either. But all teams eventually have to pay up.
Eagles were one of the more complete teams last year. Dont see you guys getting better next year.
Not a good time to have so many key FAs.

I guess the difference is I can objectively admit my teams mistakes. Said over and over they should let Zeke sit out if he holds out and not sign him. Tagging Pollard won’t be a mistake however.

so with all of these glorious moves why did you guys go out as losers? Congrats on winning one more playoff game than the Cowboys…I guess…

Who has ever said “get better”? They were 14-1 with their starting QB. They could be really good and still take a step back from that. They’re going to be in the thick of things though for the foreseeable future. Did the Eagles take a dip after Super Bowl LII because of the money and the cap management or was it because the QB got hurt again and again and was never the same guy? Let’s make sure we’re isolating the right variable.

Because Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are really good. This is my favorite part of the off season. I love it when fans of teams that aren’t as good as the Eagles throw shade at them for losing a game their team hasn’t played in since Clinton was in the White House.

Most of you Cowboys fans who post here are really old. Do you think you’ll see the Cowboys win again before you die?

Didn’t you post the other day (maybe a month I don’t know) that you are almost 50? That’s an odd comment for someone your age.
How old do you think other people are on here on average? I’m sure there are some in their 70s and God Bless them but most are probably within 10 years of you one way or the other. You are on a bizarre roll today

I don’t get the lack of respect for elders. Think he said he was 46, old man in his book. So much to learn. Life really is a long and winding road.

well last time you got rid of key people on your defense in preparation of signing wentz. So. Yeah signing Wentz early was a huge mistake, but your team as a whole got worse. Not just the QB spot.
I hadnt looked at your cap situation until now. I will be curious how they play it this coming year. You are in a win now mode. but at the moment have negative cap space with 20% of your cap going to dead cap space. If you dont resign Cox, Hargrave & Brooks. The dead cap isnt shrinking. If you do. Those wont be cheap contracts. Although 1st years are usually light so you might be able to kick the can another year. But kinda means you cant let any of those three walk if you are gonna kick the can another year. All this without mentioning your QB contract yet. But when I think things through. I do think you can get another year out of kicking the can, but it will hurt much more after. 46 mil is a lot of money to eat while maintaining a division championship team on the roster. What the eagles do will be interesting for those of us that like watching the manipulation of the cap. Do they start paying the piper some this year? Or do they attempt to kick the can one more time? (at this point I would say you might as well kick the can one more time)
Before looking into this. I kinda thought maybe Cox & Bradberry would be gone. Now I am not so sure.

Well Shit. Just realized Brooks is retired so the dead cap is staying. Was this one of those contracts with fake years on it?
Figured you guys were always gonna resign Hargrave (unless he doesnt want to for some reason) So that just leaves Cox as a contract you will eat down the road if you resign him. Guess the question is. Are you guy's gonna do it now or later?
I remember when the Cowboys years ago were dealing with 30 mil hit. That sucked. 46 mil has to really suck.

That's a lot of words to say you have never witnessed Howie's cap work before.

The wentz hit was 33 million by itself. Howie does this every year. Every year cowboys fans say the Eagles are in cap hell and every year they add free agents.

One humorous example from last offseason:
Cowboys lost Cooper
Eagles added Brown.
But the "Eagles were the ones in cap hell drrrrr" lol

I'll just add

We used to clown other Eagles fans on this topic, but most of them have learned by watching Howies magnificent work since then.

I’m racking my brain to come up with who these defensive players were that the Eagles had to shed to prepare for Wentz. Are you alluding to Nigel Bradham Hicks and Malcolm Jenkins? They got the best out of those three players and then shed them because they were older and unproductive. The bigger criticism would be over the draft mistakes made in trying to draft their replacements. It’s very fair to criticize the uneven drafting record of Howie Roseman and his front office. However, that’s an entirely different discussion from cap management.

no
cowboy fans are not obsessed with eagles.... it's the other way around dip stick.

just in the last 5 months, you midgets proclaim greatness throughout the eagles.
best line, best coach, best roster, best GM and now, top 5 QB after one season.

Keep pointing those fingers at Dallas fans.... comedy here remains free.

I think the most important thing for you to remember is that Eagles are better than the Cowboys in every one of the things you mentioned.
Better OL? Check
Better coach? Check
Better roster? Check
Better GM? Check
Better QB? Check

I don’t even doubt it. If you’re being honest you would own that there just weren’t that many of you and all of that changed when the winning started.
If you were to venture to the Patriots board (don't) you would find that we are almost all old guys that have been fans for many decades
I get that you think you have it all figured out but you don't.

How many of you guys post there? And do you understand that your small sample size doesn't move the needle on anything I've said?
