I didn't start the troll thread. I couldn't care less what number he wears. That's why I made the joke about CL.....

Gotta admit, that was pretty good. Can't wait 'til CL see's it.:pound:

im implying that he was leaving all along and was changing his number because it was already retired in miami
If that were the case, then why let the league know he wanted to change numbers in March? He wouldnt have had to do that if he already knew he was going to Miami.

I brought him up because how many other players have switched numbers, while with the same team, other than Kobe?

OP said James did it as a marketing ploy, trolling Cavs fans. I brought up Kobe because he definitely did it for marketing reasons.

Ah good old JD making up bullshit again.

How many players have switched numbers?!? Just Kobe is it?

And Kobe only did it for marketing reasons did he?

Problem for you is, the OP didn't bring it up for that reason. He brought it up to needle Cavs fans about burning Lebron's jersey and now having to buy the same jersey they burned 4 years ago. It was until a few posts later that he jokingly mentioned it as a marketing ploy.

Apparently, you were unable to grasp that the "marketing ploy" mentioned was a joke. But hey, at least you got to talk about Kobe, so that should make you happy.

Serious question now. Who the hell still buy jerseys? The last time I bought one was over 10 years ago

I've bought a couple for my son and my grandson. Can't remember the last time I bought one for myself. In fact, I have given the one's that I already had to my son as well.

People paying hundreds of dollars for jerseys are questionable for sure.

If you're buying them for your kids then that's different. The grown men rushing out to buy a LeBron jersey are odd though.

I mean I understand getting jerseys for children but if adults are still buying jerseys, something is seriously wrong with you

Looks like there's more than I thought but the key sentence in that article is:

In fact, lots of players have switched digits without switching teams, for many different reasons—some valid, or even honorable, but some just plain stupid.

Most on there have valid and honorable reasons to do so.

Splashing out hundereds for an "authentic" jersey is a bit ridiculous.

Although I did get a purple Kareem jersey about 2-3 years ago as it was on sale for about the equivalent of $40. Plus the old ones are rare as hell in the UK.

An adult woman in a jersey can be a good thing. Especially if she's not wearing much else.

You implied that he decided to switch numbers AFTER he decided to leave Cleveland. That wasn't the case.

:L

IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER WHEN HE DECIDED. THATS NOT EVEN THE POINT!!! Nobody gives a damn about him switching his number, it was the bs statement that he made for why he changed it. You got butt hurt about it and assumed we were caring about him switching his number. That's why you brought up Kobe.
