My goodness you are special.

Rams managed 5 pressures y Sunday Goff gained zero yards on those plays.

It means this could be a big problem for Goff
So you don't want to even address the 5 times he was pressured and "did nothing"? Just point out that other guys were more pressured than he was in their first round game?

You are just searching for something to be critical of Goff in that game, and I really don't understand why? He was REALLY good!

That is something you live with and the Lions did a great job of putting pieces around him to help that weakness. One of the best OL's and adding Gibbs. He has a guy you can dump it off to and he can create a 2 yard play into 10 yards. Plus he has a nasty WR corp.

Yeah you have to live with it. It’s just tough to win against really good defenses or defenses that bring pressure. He can be slow to read it and slow to run. It’s a bad combo. Can he better is the question

Tampa brought it last night so we will see

Because it is becoming quite apparent that the Rams gave up Goff for WAY too little.

This makes no sense. Lolol

He was pressured 5 times and did nothing. Hence he’s not good under pressure and hasn’t been his whole career

How? We killed the draft last year with no #1. Might get the DROY and then there is Puka.

And we got a super bowl.

Cmon

What you aren't looking at is Stroud has a MUCH higher ceiling and not on the simple fact he is still young and a rookie. He has a stronger arm, he is mobile and he has already shown he can carry a young team to a win. Goff can carry his team too but his ceiling is maxed out, we know what Goff brings to the table. Stroud is still an unknown, that in itself is pretty scary for all opposing teams in the AFC.

He's also a rookie. I'm not saying that he is the next Kyler Murray, but that is what happened with him too. Teams get more and more game film on you and often in their 2nd or 3rd seasons they start to struggle a bit.

Stroud has a HUGE future, no doubt, but let's pump the brakes a bit till we get a few more seasons out of him. Goff has had a solid 4-5 seasons in his career where he was top 5-10 in many stat categories.

Of course it doesn't make sense to you. What does "did nothing" mean? He wasn't throwing INT's, he wasn't throwing the ball away (he had an 80% completion percentage and no INT's). I don't want to point out his stats again, but just look them up for yourself. They are posted above.

It sounds like a bunch of hyperbole from someone that is just looking to be critical.

You stupid or somethin?

5 pressures he had 5 busted plays. Zero yards. Nothing.

Do you understand what a pressure means on a play? Lol

Ha ha ha... again, what happened on those busted plays? Was he sacked? Did he throw it away? What happened?

I would bet you have NO clue what happened, that is why you refuse to answer the question. The guy was 22-27 (incredible playoff stat!), so I'm not sure what you define as a "busted play". Was it entirely his fault he was under pressure? Did someone miss a block? Please give me some context.

I guess we aren't getting anywhere here. Thanks for the conversation though! It was fun.

I don’t know how else to tell you bud. He played a really good game but he’s not good under pressure. We pointed out the 5 times he was pressured. All incompletions or sacked for zero.

So…..What happened was he was pressured

Lol

Give me some details of the plays. Maybe an approximate time stamp and I can look it up?

Honestly, do you even remember any details of these 5 plays that you claimed where "busts" by Goff?

who are all these QB's that play so well when people are all up in their face?

I'm just trying to figure out why he thinks that Goff failed in those situations. There is so much more nuance to a QB in pressure. Was he blindsided? Did someone miss a block? Was it a bad snap?

Not all pressure situations are created equal. Honestly, I've watched and rewatched much of this game, and I really can't find many times that he failed on Sunday. He was near flawless. A great O-Line helps, but he still had to deliver the ball, and some of his throws were quite impressive, many thrown in small windows. He made the big plays too on 3rd down.

I can see him getting 40 mill like Jones but if he has a good agent he is gonna try and get him more than Jones.

He should get more than Jones, he has a far superior resume, although Jones was overpaid. Like I said before, I'm thinking $42-$45 million for 5 years seems to be what the market would be for him.

Now, the Lions have to determine whether they want to risk that price going up if they wait till next seasons starts, or if they just push their chips all in on Goff this spring. If they wait, that price tag could go up, especially if we see a nice increase to the NFL cap and/or Goff continues to have solid playoff performances.

I'm not sure where I land. I like the guy, but can understand the hesitancy of others on this thread. Regardless, he is not an average QB. He certainly is a top 10 guy right now, and appears to be getting better. We'll see how he does on Sunday though.

The Rams got Stafford and that led to a SB win.

Absolutely! The Rams did exactly what they wanted to do in that trade. Anything extra is just gravy.

The Lions also got everything they could have asked for. They got a top 10 QB, in his prime, on the cheap side with his contract, and several nice draft picks.

In hindsight, neither team regrets this trade. One of the rare win/win trades.

It really was a good trade for both sides.

I personally expected Detroit to use Goff for a few years and then move on from him. But, it looks like they will keep him.

Goff isn't a great QB but he is very close to being a top 8-10 QB and those guys aren't easy to find.

Just my opinion.
