In a perfect world everyone will be Peyton Manning at the podium...gracious, respectful and politically correct. But what do you expect from Richard Sherman in a post game loss against a hated rival?

He obviously feels like Seattle is the better team and he doesn't see any reason why they should lose to anyone unless they shoot themselves in the foot with miscues or get hit with flags.

I don't necessarily agree with him that the game was decided by the refs, but it is frustrating when there are so many ticky tack flags and some really inconsistent calls (both ways btw).

I don't agree with Sherman that the refs cost us the game. They did make some shitty calls, but ultimately it was our inability to put constant pressure on Kraep and the last Gore run that hurt us most.

However, calling a guy on another team a piece of shit and saying you're a better human being that he is when you have a guy who's able to play the game after drunk driving and shooting at his party-mates is ridiculous. A little trash talk doesn't make someone a bad person. Shooting at people does.

I took it back. I don't like him but he's not a pos.

I also dont agree that the refs cost the Hawk the game and I didnt think it would be a blow out. I was 95% positive it would be 7 points or less either way. Hawks didnt play their best game and they got beat.

I was just reading the 49er's section and there are a few fans that have wished injury upon him and or rooting for a Seahawk to get hurt. It takes a special kind of person to wish others harm because of a simple rivalry.

FIFY.

It doesn't get much more douchetastic than rooting for injuries. It's just a game. Philly fans will never live down cheering when Michael Irvin went down with a neck injury.

...I might be mean enough to celebrate an ill-timed cold (no pun intended) for an opponent, but that's about it.

Anyone that thinks Sherman is a poor excuse for a human being does not really know much about him. He is very generous to charitable causes, a very personable guy (on a one on one basis), and a good teammate.

What people don't seem to get about him (it took me a little bit of time to understand his mindset also) is that he WANTS to be a lightning rod for criticism and controversy. He enjoys and thrives on it. I think that it is actually good that he wants this reaction from people but does not act in a truely negative way like commiting crimes, acting like a gangster thug, etc. His negative actions are typically well thought out and done to get a specific reaction.

I wish that he hadn't said his latest either. Heck, he has said a lot of things that I wish he hadn't, but it is in his character.

Now about the rules: I am sick of people bitching and moaning about the WRs getting held up at the LOS. It is perfectly within the rules to jam a guy within 5 yards of the LOS. I know that the Seahawks push the limits in agressive play from the DBs but they do get called when their transgressions exceed the norm. In fact, I would say that Seattle actually gets more calls against them when the circumstances are questionable then other teams.

Over the years they have changed all of the rules so much to favor the offense so you can no longer tackle guys in certain ways, or lay out guys that are "defenseless", etc. etc.

All of these rule changes help the offense and everyone bitches about them say that it is no longer real football and such. Then we have DBs who are acutally evolving the game within the rules by sitting standards for being physical with the WRs and everyone bitches about that also!!

Make up your fucking minds! Do you want to keep diluting the rules so the offense can't be touched or do you want to allow the defense to at least remain a little bit physical?? If you answer the former than you are a f'n pansy. If you answered the latter then quit f'n crying about WRs actually having someone touch them on the field.

Well, I don't think Sherman is a bad person or anything of the sort. Actually, I don't think most of the guys in the league that have run-ins with the law are "bad" people either. They make bad and stupid decisions without regarding the consequences. I also can see that Sherman is not stupid. Watching some of his interviews, he speaks intelligently and his back story shows he was a very smart student in school.

However, having said all that, he really needs to learn to shut up once in a while. His antics and trash talk work my nerves and to blame the refs for Sunday and not give other players their due is just plain wrong. Rarely, if ever, do refs decide outcomes of games. Players do and if Sherman wants to be considered a great player some day, his actions on the field have to speak volumes while his mouth stays shut. As for the Crabtree comments, honestly, Crabtree wasn't a huge factor in Sundays game but he does make the Niners a better team just by being out there because defenses have to account for him. It's not complicated at all and just give the guy his due and shut up about the rest. The Niners D played great and the running game hurt us and we lost. That was all that needed to be said.

As a 9er fan I would love for him to come back to his old Coach and be the 9ers #1 CB. I love the guy, I love the smack talk during the game, afterwards is a little crazy at times. I love that video of him from the last SB(?) where he is talking to the fans on the street and almost no one knows its him. Yes you expect to blow out every opponent and you can get upset when you don’t, but he must be a man and admit that the 9ers had a better day than the Hawks. If he would have done that I think he would have earned a tremendous amount of respect, instead he looks like the little whiney bitch that we all know from childhood that didn’t get his way so he is going to cry and take his ball and go home.

I actually like his antics. It's entertaining. Since when do athletes have to all the sudden be so damn politically correct all the time. He backs his talk up and it's funny. As for him making excuses about the refs and not giving the 49ers credit, that's just being competitive, most players think that way, he just has the balls to say it.

I agree. With the hits being taken out of the NFL all we have left are the antics of players around the league.

Look at the 49ers board about the refs in last years superbowl if you want to see some more whining. Or look at Kaepernick's press conference in week 2 about not giving the other team credit.

Shit flows both ways ALL the time. No use bitching about it.

He does a LOT for his hometown in California too. It's not just his Seattle community.

Here's Kaepernick admitting as much after the week 2 blowout. It wasn't anything Seattle did that day....

“There were a couple times we did some things—just stalled,” said Kaepernick, who also lost a fumble on a blind-side sack. “I don’t think it was something they did, we just didn’t perform. We didn’t make plays like we normally do.”

I see the comparison, I don't think Kaep took it to the same level as Sherm on this one, but I am sure the guys on the other side of the mic know what they are doing when they Q&A these guys.

They love to stir that shit up:ss:

I don't think bulletin board material cares where the game is being played either, it works the same at home or away to the guys on the field.

I was talking with my grandfather the other day about this, he responded since when do PROFESSIONAL athletes need to be congratulated or be acknowledged after a win? Aren't they expected to win, so why do you need to congratulate something that is expected?

I guarantee most Seahawks fans would feel differently if Sherman was on another team. The blind ignorance among Seattle fans about why people don't like Sherman is somewhat comical.

His mouth is what makes people want to see him fail. If he ever goes on a bad game streak or if the team starts playing poorly, his mouth will become a major distraction. For example: If Sherman was on the Giants this year, his mouth would be causing issues among fans and peers.

I realize there will always be hero's and villains in the NFL, but most fans prefer the Hero. Not to be a homer but, their aren't many people out there who don't like Larry Fitzgerald. Or find me a fan who didn't like Steve Largent. A big mouth only works when the team is playing well.

I see why Sherman is so easy to dislike from your perspectives.

But from mine he is hard not to like.

Dont give me this shit about how if he was on your team you still wouldnt like him. Because if he is on your team you would understand that these few stories that the média pounds away at are only à very small fraction of who this guy is.

It makes me sad that so many of you ladies judge these football players more by soundbites than play on the field.
