good news is there should be no doubt (even for amaro) about selling now by the trade deadline. While we've lost 5 in a row, the braves and nats have put together winning streaks. Us and the mets are getting buried.

Who do you get rid of and how? Byrd and Papelbon are about the only easily movable players right now. Neither of which will garner much of a return. Although I'd be willing to move Paps just to move him.

Rollins - 10 and 5
Utley - 10 and 5
Howard - Who wants that contract right now?
Lee - No trade to over 2/3 of the league. Might make 2 starts by trade deadline.
Burnett - Pitching with a hernia.
Brown - Who wants him? You'll get nothing in return anyway
Revere - s/a/a
Chooch - Battling concussion
Asche - You'd be out of your mind.
Hamels - s/a/a

So what's your plan?

You could probably add Mayberry to the movable peices list. A contender looking for a bat in the late innings would probably be willing to make a deal for him. But his lack of production as a starter will hamper any real return.

Amaro would trade Asche for Victorino and then sign Victorino to big contract. lol. Just kidding!

Still no runs. I am coming in late and this one looks like a real snoozer.

Hamels hits Salt boy and this is the beginning of krap. If we walk batters or get them on without a hit, it usually spells bad things for these Phils.

Bases loaded after Hamels walks two batters and hits Salt boy. There is a base hit and the Marlins are up 1-0. This is how losing starts. WE put batters on without a hit and it just kills us.

The Phils got themselevs out of jam with the bases loaded and Koehler hitting into a double play. The Marlins still got a run though. Hamels' pitch count is elevating and this is not good for Hamels.

Three up and three down in an eight pitch side. This offense is simply not strong enough to compete.

Lucas just lit up Hamels for another base hit and the Marlins are now up 2-0.

Hamels did get Stanton out on pitches which is a good thing but McGeHee just took one deep for a double and that RBI puts the Marlins up 3-0.

Now the wheels have come off. Hamels is done with 97 pitches for just five innings. Hamels is obviously on the down-side of his career. He'll finish out the year but the aging players that can't produce like they used to are mounting up.

Two on and no outs and Rollins pop flys out. I have seen this too many times to hope these guys are going to score any runs.
