since it was violently annexed by the United States in the 1840s.

“The territory north and east of the Rio Grande is very important to the Mexican people,” explained a PNA spokesperson. “Before American settlers showed up and implemented slavery, Mexico oversaw this land.
Then, President Polk sent his armies to invade the rest of these Mexican territories, and force the country to give up California, New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado.
We may soon recognize these states as part of Mexico too.” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says that this is a new approach to Mexican-US relations, and hopes it will help ease the tension between the two

So Cummings and Franken will step down among pressure from Democrats for their indiscretions. Good. I don't think Franken did much in the scope of things, but it's the right thing to do. However, Trump and Moore soldier on for a party that claims to hold the morale high ground and "family values."

If you are a Republican, and you are not questioning your party membership, there is something wrong with you.

The GOP is supposed to be the party of "personal responsibility," but we've seen overt and indisputable lies from the President over and over again. The GOP is supposed to be the party of the religious right, but you all nominated a womanizer and an awful Christian for President, and now even being a ********* and sexual assaulter is okay. The GOP is supposed to be a patriotic party, and yet institutions critical to the functioning of a democracy (elections, FBI, free press) have been threatened and criticized despite a complete lack of compelling evidence as to why. The GOP is supposed to have a "big tent," but muslims, gay people, transgendered, poor people, racial minorities and women to some degree are not allowed inside.

Disgusting. Absolutely gross and disgusting.

I'm proud of several of my close friends who used to be Republicans who left the party to become independents at various points over the last decade. This is not a party of reason or sanity anymore.
