And no you aren't getting any of those guys. I seriously can't remember the last time A&M got a coach from what is considered a power league.
If A&M can get Jimbo from Florida St then A&M can certainly get a big name basketball coach.

I doubt that

Thinking coaches won't stick together for peers that were wrongly fired is quite naive.

only powerhouses can get away with it

All A&M will have to do is reassign him to a desk job or pay him not to coach

lol, i actually think the SEC has turned into a good basketball conference, but the reputation is still behind b/c people don't usually associate the SEC with good hoops.

I typically associate the SEC with high level athletes and lower level coaching and program culture.

For example, a school like Alabama can pull much better recruits than say a school like Butler, typically. But Butler is all about basketball, and the kids are more likely to play together.

So, SEC schools will typically underperform their talent level. With the exception of UK and UF of course, those are basketball schools.

But certain years, the SEC will be at the very top because of the way things shake out.

In a roundabout way, (and correct me if I'm wrong), the football program generates $ for the basketball program and that will ensure that most schools will be able to always recruit high level kids.

Right, so Villanova generated 11.4 million that year, so they wouldn't even be in the Top 5 of the SEC, and you can just imagine how much less the other Big East schools generated.

Because they have huge overall athletic budgets, the SEC schools can always compete.

But the SEC schools are fighting anonymity because they're overshadowed by football.

I don't even know anybody on Miss or Miss St, and they've been ranked and I'm like a ridiculous NCAAB fan.

I actually take that statement back.

Marquette and Georgetown are actually up there in revenue, lol. And I don't think Xavier is too bad either.
