They changed the rules a few years back. In the old days that's a fumble all day. Under the new rules it is a fumble. Did he take two steps? Yes, BUT he was holding the ball out in front of him, not against his body or tucked into a football carrying mode. He lost it while completing the act of securing it to his body. That's a fumble under these rules.
He did not have the ball secured under what the league views that as. It was out in front of him and was fumbled while bringing it over to one hand to finish securing.
The rule sucks, but that WAS the correct call under it. Period.
OK ... Defense make some adjustments and stop sitting back in a zone all day letting Dallas run... You know their O-line is good, you can't let them pound you all day on the ground..
If Wilson and the offense is wanting to take pressure off Lynch and the running game, then they are going to have to make these plays in the passing game.
