I see the Ty France correlation. But the shift going away doesn’t stop the 2B from playing where Seager always hit it. They use to be professional hitters, if you go back and watch prior to the double Griffey took what the defense gave him instead of just trying to pull the ball. It is just odd that numbers people like on base percentages but only want 1 way of getting on base.It will open up bigger holes for natural pull hitters. All the times I saw Kyle Seager ground out to right field when the second baseman fielded the ball 25 beyond the infield grass? Yeah, that shit is going to stop.
Ironically, the guy it might hurt is Ty France because most of his singles were opposite-field singles. The hole there won't be as big for him there as it has been the last two years.

It is going to leave up the middle more open so hopefully it will help guys like JP
