Agreed. Only semi-related but does anyone have any idea why Bellinger fell off a cliff?

I actually kind of like Haggerty, but honestly the sample size is too small for me to be confident in him as a regular.

Regarding Kelenic, I think we're all on the same page here. He's a bust. I respect the Mariners beat writers a lot and they all think it would be premature to give up on Kelenic, but he has a strikeout problem that didn't get any better after we sent him to AAA. It's clear there's nothing we have been able to do that's able to remedy that. If he gets traded to another team and figures it out, I'd have a lot of respect for whatever organization was able to fix him.

Kelenic is not a bust.
He takes..unheard of heat..
Cuz he is not quit ..ready..
Player,...bull..shit ..he is 23..
Maturity
..is a different issue...to the point....that I really don't want to trade him..
At this point...,yes..it's true..,.but I do realize..
A reynolds trade would..
Require it....

Please.....lo and a lawn chair...don sutherlland style..
.lololo...
Reynolds would be a great...trade...pirates need
Starting...pitching....
There is pitching..is the worst in the league..
Making...them ,..the worst...team ..in the league.

Reynolds .is..there best..player...right now,..

From Seattle's..point...of view...
.he is way..to..expensive.,.because..of just that..

But a team wants..starting..pitching....and...a team...is saying..,here...here.,is starting..

Pitching.,..and they just go...aaahhh.,.

What...my..pitching....is chopped...liver..?????

Right...like you even ..know..what a pitcher..is.

But ...maybe..Pittsburgh..
Needs..to sufffffffffer...
For 20 years...to appreciate...it...

But even white may be a good enough..
Trade chip..a gold glove defence 1base...and needs..some..hitting..and that is the truth..
He has already..proven it
..he just needs..some..fine..tunning....on hitting
Yeah he will prob hit 230..if his hips are ready..

Yes .to Seattle fans..as well..even white..
Is an awesome talent...
Ohh..yeah..didn't Pitt..just sign...Santana..

And that..is the truth...

And that is why.the mariners still..have him..
In hunters...pocket..so to...speak..

But he could be a trade chip...???

Yes I suppose..he could ..

With Perez on the way .

Here is a guy after game 2 last year I said M's should target. I doubt Flexen and/or Marco get it done.

According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the Twins are discussing the possibility of trading Luis Arraez.

Arraez, who captured the American League's batting title this past season, has been discussed as a possible trade candidate this offseason as the Twins look to upgrade their starting rotation. Hayes adds that the Twins would prefer not to trade Arraez, and would only move him in the right deal, but after seeing the recent contracts for upper-echelon starters, the club has re-considered it's approach to acquiring pitchers. It's at least a situation fantasy managers should monitor closely over the next few weeks.

I guess the Phillies aren't as fiscally responsible as the Mariners...

Honestly pretty pathetic from ownership. I get that at the time we were still rebuilding, but if you had any confidence in your front office you'd sign off on that deal under the assumption the team will be competitive by the back end of the deal.

One thing that concerns me about Wong is he adjusted his swing when he went to the Brewers so he'd hit more fly balls in a homer friendly ball-park. Hoping that doesn't cause any problems when he comes to Seattle.
A thing I don’t get with the club and people who defend the idea of not “breaking the bank” is they think every deal has to be the Cano deal. It doesn’t have to be 10 years at $30 million. Negotiate a shorter deal but way more money. I’d like to see the agent who makes his client turn down a 3 or 4 year deal at $50 a year or whatever.

I just completely hate this idea of them not having the money and really, really hate the idea of leaving payroll flexibility for 3 years down the road. With that line of thinking best case scenario is 1 Gilbert, Kirby or Raleigh walk because they performed so well. But worst case scenario is they turn into Kyle Lewis. Most likely scenario is only 1 of them will command top dollar and the other two get much smaller deals.

And when I say within striking distance of the luxury tax I still mean leave plenty so you can add payroll at the deadline but not $100.

I'd say on paper we're maybe slightly better. Toescar replaces Haniger and Wong replaces Adam Frazier.

Lol it's funny you mention that, I remember I liked the Winker trade and thought Eugenio Saurez was a salary dump who would hit .190 with 20 HRs and a ton of errors.

Can't remember my thoughts on the Toro trade. Don't think I was a fan of it because his numbers with Houston were garbage.
I think everyone thought Geno was a salary dump and if he’s being honest I think Jerry did too.

The Toro trade was the one big time I can remember a big blowup on here with fans. We have argued about the Marco trade and maybe a few minor ones but the Toro deal was a big split and IMO is why Haniger wanted to test FA vs signing the extension he was offered.

Now they are just fucking with us.

After Jerry’s comment did you really expect them to land a top FA. I mean a bat, they probably will land a starting pitcher and will end up trading Flexen and Marco for a utility player.
