Cruz has all the RBIs (7) in their extra inning game against Tampa Bay. What a year he's having.

Great year! It was bound to happen when he left

Cruz is slugging .461 at home and .565 on the road this year so it isn't Camden Yards that has made his season. 22 road HRs and 15 at home. He is hitting .236 at home and .277 on the road.

He is simply a very good power hitter who would help any team.

And we offered him 14 million...

I am so glad that Bogar knows Leonys has to face lefties if he is ever going to learn to hit them better.

It's not like he hasn't been given multiple opportunities to do so, might be a legitimate platoon guy, Leonys has done this to himself

We offered him nothing when he was signable. That offer you are talking about has nothing to do with what it took to get him signed when he finally got signed. That was ancient history by then and is not relevant to what was going on when he did sign.

It's also no true, because the Rangers did offer him a deal. I've seen the articles posted here and other websites where JD refuted claims that he didn't. I don't know the specifics, but I believe JD when he says they offered him a deal.

Wash sat him down a lot against lefties. I think he has about 250 ABs against lefties in his career.

Regular cable, no satellite

I used to think Directv wasn't all that special. Now I get all 162 Rangers games. Something I never got with Comcast. Not trying to convert you or anything. Just really happy with them. Hopefully you get the SEC Network.

Rev, I have never read where JD claimed they offered him anything at that point. I was following it pretty closely and I don't recall that happening. I may have missed something, but I have mentioned this several times over the last several months and I have never had anyone show me anything that claimed otherwise as far as a quote from JD or anything.

I cannot find it, but I've read it multiple times. Also from a logical stand point. if you offer the guy 14 million in a qualifying offer why would you not offer him something after? I just refuse to believe that they just balked at that. They knew what he could do offensively and I have ZERO reason to doubt they offered him something competitive.

I don't think JD wanted to bust the budget. He spent so much on Choo and Fielder that he didn't want to spend any more.

They only offered him the $14 million because they knew he wouldn't accept it. It was to preserve the draft pick which brings up the only sound argument against signing Nelson to me. But, if you are going to build for the future by foregoing good free agents then they should have went full board in that direction in my opinion.

I think I remember hearing that we offered him less than the 14, which makes sense. I always believed it was the fact that they were willing to give him more OF time. I don't exactly remember wither though.

I don't know exactly what was offered, but I know they didn't just let him walk. It's silly to believe that.
