And his value goes beyond the on-field performance. I'm sure he did that in Seattle as well. He's been great for the young Niners. He's told the team all year that no one respects them and that they have to prove it every week. Hopefully, the motivational stuff works for a few more weeks.

He's had that chip on the shoulder since he was drafted and being told by the national media that Seattle's drafts are bad and these can't play. That's his motivation to keep proving the doubters wrong and the young Niners have a great guy/teammate to look up to and give them confidence in their play.

Carrol gets a lot of leeway from me for what he did for us at USC. He was a great coach. He may have had that national title taken away in 2005 because of the Reggie Bush thing but I guarantee you that Oklahoma knows who the national champion was that year.

Pete remade himself into an excellent coach. Did a great job at USC and than learned from his mistakes from his previous HC stints when he took over in Seattle.

I wasn't freaking out because we had all 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning, I get the strategy of that, but going for it would have probably been the right thing to do, because even if you turn it over you can still get a stop on D even if the field position is worse...
