I thought this already happened like 2 weeks ago or was that just that he wasn't retiring?

Supposedly 4 years $31 million. He was never going to not play or retire this upcoming year

Idk where La Canfora got his numbers. But apparently it's a 3 year $31m deal. Could gain up to 12 of it this season

Reports on the details are all over the board. Guess we will have to wait to get the real details on the contract.

As usual, the media is always about getting the tweets out first at all costs and substance doesn't matter.

I'm sure it's going to happen, but until one of the sides makes it official and we see some numbers the story isn't complete.

Seahawks have announced it on their site. 12mil this year. (9 million 2016 & 10 million 2017 if he doesn't retire.)

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch signs two-year extension through 2017

Renton, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks have signed running back Marshawn Lynch to a two-year extension through the 2017 season, the club announced today.

Since joining Seattle on October 5, 2010 in a trade with the Buffalo Bills, he has played in 75 games with 71 starts in the regular season, rushing 1,346 times for 5,930 yards and 54 touchdowns. Lynch has also played in 10 postseason games with eight starts, rushing 187 times for 917 yards and nine touchdowns with Seattle.

Since 2011, he leads the NFL in the following categories: rushing yards (5,357), total touchdowns (56), rushing touchdowns (48), 100-yard games (24), and is the only player to rush for more than 1,000 yards and record 10 rushing touchdowns in each season since 2011.

Lynch has earned four consecutive Pro Bowl berths with Seattle and has been voted a two-time All-Pro (first-team in 2012, second-team in 2014). He ranks fourth in franchise history in rushing attempts (1,346) and rushing yards (5,930), third in rushing touchdowns (54) and tied for third in total touchdowns (62).

He has averaged 1,339 rushing yards since 2011 and needs 1,305 yards to become the 30th player in NFL history to reach the 10,000-yard plateau. Lynch has rushed 2,033 times for 8,695 yards and 71 touchdowns in 120 games with 108 starts. He has added 239 receptions for 1,899 yards and nine touchdowns in his career.

In 2014, he ranked tied for first in the NFL in rushing touchdowns (career-high 13), first in non-kicker scoring (102), fourth in rushing (1,306), fifth in first downs (81) and fifth in most yards from scrimmage (1,673). He tied the franchise record and set a career-high with four rushing touchdowns vs. N.Y. Giants (11/9/14) and his career-long 79-yard touchdown run at Arizona (12/21/14) ranks as the fourth-longest in franchise history.

Naw, it was news. Just the 'new' news. Like it or not this is how things are released anymore.

Had no doubt it was legit. The story came because they saw Lynch getting on the plane to Seattle. Kind of gave that some serious legs.

I just loved all of the 'details' everyone was releasing that was all very different. Every one of them that was wrong should be met with a shit storm of people calling them out for being frauds that were only trying to make shit up to get more retweets.

As for the actual story, how can we not be happy? Not sure how much of his deal is on the books for this season, but the likely dead money from the spreading out of the signing bonus shouldn't end up being too bad if he does retire after this year. And it probably brings down the cap hit this year to something less than he actually made last year. Everyone wins.

Well, except for the people trying to tackle him

beginning of the end for the Seahawks. lynch wins, he got his cash and he's got his ring. game, set match

Hawks way overpaid. not saying he won't be effective, but his beast mode days are behind him.

just my opinion

lynch is actually a pretty smart guy. he knows this is his final big check. why risk your body and your long term health? get your money and ride into the sunset.

Perhaps his Beast Mode days are behind him, but he looked good last year and worth taking a risk.
