The hot seat is meaningless this year. Schools and their boosters are facing an unprecedented economic impact and anyone of note has a contractual buyout that will buy them another year.

Six months ago dropping 8 figures to fire someone and another 8 figures to hire someone the base approved of was easy for some and a stretch but doable for the rest. Now, unless it's a school that has a HC a billionaire alum absolutely hates, AD's are going to look at the economic hit and decide they are better off losing money on attendance next year and save money on a cheaper buyout in the future.

Is Nebraska spending the money????

We are still paying Callahan, Solich, Pelini, That last coach we had and I think Bobby Bonilla is still on our payroll too...:pound:

...or do you mean on people currently working for us...:gaah:

(Fellow Husker fans.....I know we are not still paying the above mentioned ..... except the last coach and maybe Bobby :heh:)

I'm talking about coaching budgets and recruiting budgets.
Some schools are stingy.

We are not stingy on those imo..... but I’m not all that versed in comparison to the elite spenders.

It’s about time Nebraska lowers their expectations I think. Times have changed. It was a good run.

Lawd.

It's funny that a place like Iowa is jealous of a place like Nebraska

Thing is.. they can, atleast in the West division. No reason why they can't be a better version of Iowa or Wisconsin. They typically can recruit well out west, no reason why they can't ascend. I also think unlike Iowa or Wisconsin, they can compete with pedo and michigan in recruiting. not going there with tosu right now.

Except having the W with it.

2019 - Iowa 27, NU 24 / Wis 37, NU 21
2018 - Iowa 31, NU 28 / Wis 41, NU 17
2017 - Iowa 56, NU 14 / Wis 38, NU 17
2016 - Iowa 40, NU 10 / Wis 23, NU 17 OT
2015 - Iowa 28, NU 20 / Wis 38, NU 21
2014 - NU 37, Iowa 34 OT / Wis 23, NU 21
2013 - Iowa 38, NU 17 / Wis 59, NU 24

Minnesota is back!

I would rather have 5 coaches in 20 years than 1 racist nazi loser who's program scandals result in zero championships.

1) When his son Brian was outed for living in tax-payer subsidized housing designed for poor students, the press quickly forgot it
2) When he made up an award for Doyle two months after he sent 13 kids to the hospital, the press quickly forgot it.
3) When he hired his son-in-law in a high-paying cushy job and his "boss" found out about it thru the press, Kirk flat out said, "I didn't think I had to clear it with him". When in fact he did because of nepotism language in the contract.
4) When asked why walk-ons were playing over more talented and highly recruited players and he has always answered with snark.
5) When his son threatened an official with violence there was no punishment. This was at the same time he was firing assistants for empathizing with players.
6) Every season his team has gone to a bowl game he has demanded contract renegotiation and gotten a new contract every time. Even if the result was a 6-7 season. His bonuses start at 6 wins.
7) When his team struggled offensively running the schemes he cherished, he would shift the blame to his O.C. and they would be gone.

1) U of I is very liberal. They probably encouraged it.

2) That incident was his biggest criticism until recently, and Doyle is gone.

3) i don't remember this. Boss must not care too much.

4) He answers everything with a snark. And since when has he ever played someone due to their recruiting status? More often than not, Iowa finished far better than their recruiting class.

5) I am not that big of fan of Brian. He is too influenced by daddy and he is a jerk. I feel he has really underachieved in a role like OC. O'Keefe should be OC.

6) He didn't demand them. But it was getting sad how often he was getting extensions.

7) I will 100% agree with this one. Ferentz is an excellent defensive coach. Brian, unfortunately, is too influenced by his dad. O'Keefe should be OC. Greg Davis was not a good fit for Ferentz style.

Agreed, they can do all that. But it won't make them elite as they were in the past. I believe they have one division title since they entered the Big 10 and no conference championships.

So one more than Texas in the same timeframe?
