John Harbaugh would be a slam dunk

and that's what USC needs right now

Harbaugh was mentioned for the Horns and Wolverines jobs and was said to have a lot of interest in Texas (obviously knowing his brother was going to UM).

problem was (and will always be) timing when it comes to current NFL coaches who might want to move to college. due to the timing of open recruiting periods, college programs want their new coaches named at the same time the NFL season is ending or, at the latest, by the 1st round of the NFL playoffs.

if this is something both sides could see as a fit, they could start doing all the necessary work quietly over the next couple months.

Yep, that's what happened. In fact, I think his words were "I don't think I have a problem, but I will take the advice of..." or something similar...

They beat ASU. Coaches are now telling everyone after a loss to UW that at that ASU game he was drunk.
