the arrogance of asking for ownership is immature

Don't take this wrong, but it worked for Eli Manning, lol. I think Caleb is super talented but his behavior and statements made by his family have convinced me, he will completely meltdown in a place like DC, or really any NFL team where he has to carry it on his back. He comes off as a kid that wants no parts of starting from the bottom. Thats just my opinion

Are we sure he made those statements? I haven’t been able to find anything definitive that is attributed to him.

if he did, indeed make those comments, then do not use a top pick in this kid. It’s just too much of a risk. We cannot afford to swing and miss again with this pick. Moreover, we have a chance to turn this pick into multiple picks, filling serious holes with quality starters. This is how you turn a 3-5 year rebuild into a 2-3 year rebuild and do it on the cheap.

my issue with daniels , nix , maye williams is where is the signature win ? pennix has a couple with victories over oregon and in the playoffs he has a chance to do it but the others ?????? same with mcarthy , 2 OSU wins and he is in the playoffs

this wreaks of getting swept up in the RG3 qb yr when in the long term that highly rated class turned into a huge urine sample withh all failing to be what they were projected to be

to me none of those guys are better then what we have in howell who also had no signature wins . howell is a 5th rounder , these guys are touted as 1st rounders some very high

now you can say the new FO will want their own guy and thats a fair statement however that will open up these picks to criticism by me for sure much like i bagged the davis pick and stick figure picks right away and the dotson pick . ( its trending i am wrong about dotson even though he has regressed )

in fairness i didnt start having misgivings about CY until yr 2 before his injury but he was a huge miss

Although I wanted RR to at least bring Tua in ... I was excited about Chase after year 1 as well.

Scenario A
Skins draft Maye or Daniels and the one we pick ends up being a bust. Meanwhile Howell goes to a team with a line and is in the Pro Bowl every year. Thw new GM is the guy that let Sam get out of the building.

Scenario B
Skins pass on this class, line gets fixed and years later Howell is still taking sacks and still leading the league in interceptions and pick6s. All while Daniels is tearing up the league with his arm and legs and is one of the most feared QBs in the game.

While he or Maye are killing it we are here two years from now, on this board, talking about how we don't have a QB and I can't believe we passed on so and so.

Im not going to pretend I know which scenario is more likely. Could be a situation where Howell and the draft class are all legit, or they all end up sucking for one reason or another.

Big, big off-season looming and a big, big decision is looming for someone (GM X).

I know a lot of people in the building with say so like Sam. I like Sam. He has a shot in the next four weeks to slam the door shut on all the drafting a QB talk.

Look Howell is being asked to be the offense, way too much too soon for a guy like him and I think he has handled it well . He will grow into a very good qb and taking a qb at 4 overall has to be an elite guy and so far none of this draft class has a signature win vs a great team save maybe pennix and he is a 2x acl guy

I'd like to see the Skins go QB in the first or not at all. Move on from Sam or invest every resource we have in putting a team around him.

Plan B please. For no matter who the QB is, they won’t survive if it’s behind this putrid OLine. So why not take advantage of the abundance of highly touted tackles is this draft and get your bookends for the next 5+ years.

Does everyone realize that the hit rate for QBs taken in the first round is less Than 50%? and on this team, that number is 0%! Hit rate is the percent of players That make it with their same team through their rookie deal. With so much we need, can we afford that risk, given that we have a qb already that has shown they can play? I just don’t see that as a prudent risk.
