i am going to say something very very controversial here and it will be tremendously challenged but i am starting to think there isnt a star qb in this draft . i dont see a stroud or a burrow or mahomes or allen or lawrence .

what i see is a murray ( williams ), i see nix who has been in college since the obama administration. i see penix with 2 acl injuries , daniels might be jackson or fields . maye maybe maye will be something but he could be tribisky

to be honest there could be a guy you can train into being a decent qb and hence i cant pay a top 10 pick on any of these guys hype machines aside

all things being equal we are just as good with howell which some people will give the KC treatment

the scouts disagree with me , the pundits disagree with me perhaps most of the fanbase will disagree with me but thats the thought i have on my mind at this time .

this isnt a LB draft either
That's not controversial at all, busts happen every year in pro-football, most, unfortunately because of the team that drafts them. Visionaries see what the average person cannot. They take intelligent, well prepared, planned out risks and aren't afraid of getting it wrong because that too teaches them to avoid similar missteps in the future. Clearly, you already know this to be true or your post never would have made it to this public forum.

Is that the way Brady would have been treated? Believe me, I am not comparing the two but my point is SH is no longer a fifth. SH is a proven NFL starter with room for growth but still on his rookie contract.
What exactly is the "growth" that you speak of?

Those are good stat comparison, however howell has played 13 games, and i would guess those comparisons are over 16 games.

I agree that patience is a virtue.

The same growth that every QB is capable of. They grow as they learn how to read a defense, influence a defense, change protections, get the ball out on time, get better timing within an offense, and move within the pocket. The physical side does not improve much at all with the exception of mechanical improvements.

We have a first year QB, who leads the league in passing, behind one of the worst Olines in the league and some of y'all are talking about drafting a QB?? If we upgrade the line and get a real D next season, we could EASILY flip this into a 10+ win team with Howell. His mistakes are 90% due to pressure. With a real line, this kid might put up close to 30 a game for us.... I'm not even gonna start on how many CRUCIAL drops we've had this season on top of it. Howell should be a lock at this point.... anything else is flat out stupid, IMO

Who or which Washington fans/posters are advocating against Howell being the starter in 2024?

He is 5th in yards per game and 21 in yards/attempt, 13 in comp/pct,,1st in attempts, he is 10th in TD passes and has the 2nd most INTs.

I'd say a good first season but not sure if he is Pro Bowl worthy. 5 more games to find out.

He also looks better than a third of the league, regardless of the fact that he hasnt even played a full season yet.

Looks good.
