Turn that top pick into 2blue chip offensive lineman. Draft a Qb in rounds 2-5. Let’s see what Sam and EB can do with half decent line around him.
I definitely think EB deserves a look, but I have moved on from just handing him the job. I love that he pushes his players though. That doesn’t bother me at all.

I think harris and owners need to relay 2 things to the candidate:

1. We empower you to make whatever decisions you feel are necessary to rebuild and maintain a successful organization.
2. We will provide you the necessary funds to accomplish this goal.

I would love to see the GM hire whomever he needs in support and to find the best assistant GM money can buy.

Oh....they need to tell the candidate that they are staying out of the way and to contact them when more money is needed...lol
I get your point but the GM still has to be accountable to the owner. Harris has already said he will not be making on the field decisions.

PFF allows you to trade players in their mock draft simulator. I was consistently able to get a high 2nd and a 4th for Sam. Example, Tampa gave me their 2nd(7th pick in round 2) and their 4th.

And I still think you are getting ripped off a bit. I think a 2 this season and a 1 next is more appropriate.

No way you're getting that. Honestly we'd probably get a 3rd.

From 5 to 15 is a 700 point difference.

In 2023, Texans traded 3 and a 4th for 12, 33, and a 1 and 3 in 2024.

In 2021, Dolphins traded up to 6 and gave a fifth for a 12 and a four plus a 2022 1.

Throughout the Snyder era most FA’s have been misses . The best FA we got this yr was crowder in my opinion
all snyder, s fa,,s were total shit.i can,t recall one decent one out of the many he pissed away money on other than todd collins under gibbs and jeff rutledge..i don, know if gibbs or snyder got them, but they were decent qbs.crowder is the best this year.

You really think there is a team out there that is going to give us their #2 this year and their #1 next year? Come on man.

I can’t do more than show you history...in the ball park of what we are discussing.

I am not saying anybody will because we do not know who is available. If Maye were to make it or a team is high on Pennix, like TB could be, history would say it is not outlandish.

Ohhhhh okay. We are having a miss communication. I was offered a 2 and a 4 for Sam Howell.....not our 1st this year.

I am completely convinced that Sam Howell is a bona-fide starter in this league. I reached that conclusion a few games into this season. That said, I have questions for those of you who are either still on the fence, and/or wanting to see more from him.

1. What else, exactly are you looking for?

2. When you say "growth" do you mean experience?

3. Are you looking for that "aha" moment that one would get when you know it when you see it?

4. How about nothing other than seeing what he can do with a better team around him?

Yeah my bad. I went back and read a little closer, which I should not have needed to do because you were very clear in your statement.

Now, do I think a 2 and 4 is good value for SH?

Well, 2023 Stafford was acquired for two 1s, a 3, and Goff (PB QB).

2014, Garopollo traded to 49ers for a 2.

Sam Bradford was traded from Philly to Minnesota for a 1 and 4.

2008, Cutler got two 1s, a 3, and Orion.

There are also a larger list of wild trades for a first from the early 2000s and 1990s.

Think of any potential trade involving Howell in this manner... during an actual NFL draft a team offered their 2nd and possibly a 3rd or whatever the deal is, for your 5th straight up.

He's clearly outplayed his draft status. If th Skins did decide to draft a QB and trade Sam, I think we could get a mid 3rd from someone.

Is that the way Brady would have been treated? Believe me, I am not comparing the two but my point is SH is no longer a fifth. SH is a proven NFL starter with room for growth but still on his rookie contract.

i am going to say something very very controversial here and it will be tremendously challenged but i am starting to think there isnt a star qb in this draft . i dont see a stroud or a burrow or mahomes or allen or lawrence .

what i see is a murray ( williams ), i see nix who has been in college since the obama administration. i see penix with 2 acl injuries , daniels might be jackson or fields . maye maybe maye will be something but he could be tribisky

to be honest there could be a guy you can train into being a decent qb and hence i cant pay a top 10 pick on any of these guys hype machines aside

all things being equal we are just as good with howell which some people will give the KC treatment

the scouts disagree with me , the pundits disagree with me perhaps most of the fanbase will disagree with me but thats the thought i have on my mind at this time .

this isnt a LB draft either

1. better ball security, decision making
2. n/a
3. I've seen it
4. that's an excellent question, I'd believe Howell would have even better numbers with an improved o-line BUT
if you put a rookie QB from this upcoming draft in at starter, could he potentially do the same numbers BUT have more success as far as wins

i dont know jack about this year's QB class other than Caleb, and i've heard the kid from Carolina is also great.
so Skinsdad i can't challenge your statement, however.....you can't picture one these guys being a franchise guy in his second year?

1) how does he react when teams get film on him ? can he adjust ?

2) i want to see how his processing comes along , can he see what the defense is doing to him and get he get to the right play , right read quickly

3) no A ha moment , i thi k you will see him improving right out front in OTAS

4) it will be great to see him with a proper o/line with a game changer like MHJ or coleman with a mac and dotson as the new posse

Nope, Brady was the reason why Bledsoe got treated that way. Mahomes was the reason why Smith was treated that way. I think you get the picture, and I agree with you that Sam's value had increased that's why you consider that possible move. We don't disagree that he's a bona-fide starter in this league. That "room for growth" is an interesting observation and I'll comment on it in another post in this thread.
