I never said I would stab him. I can be emotional at times. If that were the Vikings got eliminated in a playoff game at home and an opposing fan acted like that, I wouldn't be taking it very well. I probably at least would've told him to shut the fuck up or pour a little beer on him, but it's not like I'd try to end his life in that situation.

It's not okay but it happens all the time. Anyone dumb enough to do what he did should expect trouble.

This is kind of the problem. We should never "expect" it to happen. Now when it does happen people defend the spitter. That's wrong and it tells people it's OK to act that way. Unless that Saints fan was throwing things or pushing and punching people everyone should just walk away and let him be a gloating ass. If he's just waving and saying "who dat" then he shouldn't expect to be spit at or hurt. We encounter dumb ass people everyday. At work, at the mall, in traffic, etc... and it would be deemed unacceptable to spit on someone just because they were irritating you at those places. Sports venues shouldn't be any different.

This. End of thread.

No one deserves to be assaulted for being an obnoxious asshole...

but

everyone is drunk, it's the playoffs and you're going out of your way to antagonize very angry, disappointed people on their turf.

This is what you can expect when you do it. We can debate whether it's right or wrong all day, but "that's just the way it is" and frankly, I think he earned it.

I think expect & deserved are two different things.

I agree he should have expected some kinda altercation.

Saying he deserved it means it is ok to do such acts.

but the guy probably spent somewhere in the 4 digits to go see that playoff game. Probably got razed all game long. I am sure you wouldn't want to be told after spending all that money & time to go to the game just sit there quietly. he should be allowed to express himself. You know the Eagles fans would do it to him if the Saints missed that FG. With all that said. I agree it was stupid of him, still doesn't make spitting in someones face right.

Dumbass behavior invites dumbass behavior. In a crowd of 10s of thousands, there is often more than 1 dumbass. It happens, no one was harmed in this case which is good.

Never happens to me. Course you could not pay me enough to go to any NFL game and sit in the sub zero temps.

I got the wood stove going. Nice and warm, plenty of alcohol, and nobody to tell me what to do..Other than the wife that is.

lol

These people are losers at life.

People who spit on opposing fans are losers at life. People who pour beer on opposing fans are losers at life. People who drive by a quarterback's house and shout obscenities. People who go on Twitter and issue death threats because of a missed field goal, or dropped pass. Shoot a fellow fan for not being distraught enough over a loss. Diving into an opposing fans' student body flailing arms and legs. Stabbing someone at Appleby's for being a fan of your rival.

If you are one of these kinds of people, you are a loser at life.

People with self-discipline, self-respect and self-control don't do this shit.

Losers do.

oh please. have to hear this bullshit all the time. i didn't watch the video, don't care to. fans do this everywhere. fucking peewee parents assault refs and rumble with each other on the field these days.

how about the seahawks fan who was arressted for assault?

how about the white sox fans in chicago that ran on to the field and attacked the 1st base coach?

how about all the stabbings, beatings and actual killings in california?

how about the other 9 millions things you can find year after year in every city?

and to top it all off, whether it's 1 person or a group, they sure as hell don't represent a whole fan base. you don't hear about a murder somewhere and say every resident is a thug. idiotic shit.

I have a simple solution to this problem and it's one I follow. I stopped going to most NFL games. I feel comfortable at NBA and MLB games (even Dodger stadium) but I don't like the violent, drunken overtones at NFL games, especially afterward in the parking lot. I finally called it quits on Chargers games at the last one I went to when several Chargers fans in the parking lot on the way in recruited me because of my size to go kick opposing fans' asses just for being there. It was a total buzzkill, especially with my 12 yr old son standing right there.

Just don't go.

we don't all feel that way. If that's all that asshole got, my hat's off to Eagles fans.

I go 51/49 with the loudmouth. The other guy didn't punch him, in which case I'd say lock his ass up.

Considering he is in Philly, he was probably catching hell from the Egirls fan the entire game. They aren't there very often, their fans don't know how to act.

Eveyrwhere else doesn't have the shitty-fan history that the Eagles do. There is a reason you had a court in your old stadium...because there were that many trouble makers.

Now go boo santa or throw batteries at the opposing team some more.

The only difference between Philadelphia fans and New Orleans fans is that Philadelphia fans have never had to swim around their ghetto after a hurricane.

...as he should! He's in their house. That's the way it is. Dickhead is running his fat mouth with all his "Who dat?" shit, can't be too surprised when he's whiping spit out of his face.

...and also Philly fans don't have a QB with divine backing.

That saints fan had it coming. I would've done the same thing or throw a nearly full bottle of pop at this head.

Glad your not a bear fan....You ever did something like that to me or my family......You`d better have security walk you out the stadium.
actually security would be walking you out the stadium straight to jail with me following close behind.........

If you are the kind of person who acts like that Saints fan at an opposing teams field, you better have your own security team. That guy got off lucky I think.
