Chicago really only has Kruger and Shaw that were taken after the 2nd round that have been good NHL'ers. Even for TB, it's pretty much only Gudas and Paquette. The problem is those guys are usually not too difficult to come across, and Shero did a poor job of finding exactly where to look. JR's doing a much better job of it.

That about sums it up.

Look, Sutter isn't bad at all, but he is what he is. Middling offensive production and there's not one stat that supports him being a shut down guy on D side. He will score a few shorties, he will log some PK minutes, but he's paid 3.3M for that. That was the issue.

Im assuming this "4th line TOI" is based on a league average of what 4th liners played last season, right?

because on the canucks he was third in TOI/game amongst forwards (4th at even strength)

Yeah, not a perfect stat, but I believe it takes average TOI/game and compares to league average. Not sure if they delineate what each demarcation is.

'cause when you look at total TOI amongst NHL centres, Bonino was 59th in the league ... id call that top 6 minutes and/or second line minutes

He's going off of the HERO Chart, which has him just over 4th line minutes:

just as an aside, Bonino at times last season didnt look strong on his skates

ok getting back on track ... the dog in that picture needs a hero, hes holding on to his hero til the end of the night .. hes gotta be strong and hes gotta be fast and hes gotta be fresh from the fight
