That about sums it up.

Look, Sutter isn't bad at all, but he is what he is. Middling offensive production and there's not one stat that supports him being a shut down guy on D side. He will score a few shorties, he will log some PK minutes, but he's paid 3.3M for that. That was the issue.

Bonino puts up 1st line production rates with nearly 4th line TOI

Im assuming this "4th line TOI" is based on a league average of what 4th liners played last season, right?

because on the canucks he was third in TOI/game amongst forwards (4th at even strength)

Yeah, not a perfect stat, but I believe it takes average TOI/game and compares to league average. Not sure if they delineate what each demarcation is.

u sure this guy didnt just fuck that stat up from the get go and was tweeting out of his ass? lol

'cause when you look at total TOI amongst NHL centres, Bonino was 59th in the league ... id call that top 6 minutes and/or second line minutes :noidea:

He's going off of the HERO Chart, which has him just over 4th line minutes:

EDIT: Okay, found something here: it's from 2012-2015, so it's a career stat.

Steven Stamkos was also a late round pick, while we're at it.

Are we really on 6 pages discussing a trade of fourth liners?

Is that an Enrique Iglesias kind of hero or a Chad Kruger kind of hero?

unlike Bo Horvat, Nick Bonino IS a bit of shrinking violet so Ill go with a Wallflowers kind of hero

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on

just as an aside, Bonino at times last season didnt look strong on his skates

ok getting back on track ... the dog in that picture needs a hero, hes holding on to his hero til the end of the night .. hes gotta be strong and hes gotta be fast and hes gotta be fresh from the fight

Of course, maybe Nick is more of a Bonnie Tyler hero and has been holding out on us?

Edit: Beaten once again to the punch by jstew (lol)
