Of course, maybe Nick is more of a Bonnie Tyler hero and has been holding out on us?

Love the trade. Looking at basic stats, and a few highlights, Sutter looks like a two-way C who scores pretty goals, including shorties, and shows up come playoff time. But watching the games, you see that he never generates sustained pressure, isn't that great a shutdown player, and generally doesn't work with his line mates. The advanced stats say the same thing. But it's really about value: I'll take Bonino at cheaper and signed for 2 years than pending UFA Sutter any day of the week. Getting the extra player and a draft upgrade is gravy.

Also opened room for Fehr. The Metro is looking stacked thus year, depth wise.

" Well, we still have the roster next year"
" All of the young players have a year of experience"
" All of the veteran players will help the young players"
" Will it's only Lack. Still have most of the Roster"
" Kass did nothing for us"
" Well our division sucks"

Those were the lies I told myself that we are going to make the playoffs next year. This proves we won't

so.... Kesler???
(except Kes was a pretty good shutdown player)

the thing about Bonino's stats last year anyways, he was utter magic for the first 14 games (7 goals, 12 points) - but pretty meager for the rest of the year. I don't know which one was the real Bonino.

The answer is probably "both"

Hockey fans in the dog days of summer, 43, god bless us one and all.

We should all pray that no one signs Frederic St Denis. The board could melt down.

a usually Mr positive Lucky Pierre just said in the cesspool that Adam Clendenning isnt an everyday nhl'er

said he has lateral movement and pivoting issues :noidea: ... yet Ive seen scouting reports that he is a smooth skater :noidea:

Did I hear about 4.6 million for BSutter and using Couturier as a comparable?

Love him or hate him, Pierre is usually spot on with his analysis

I didn't get the craze for Adam Clendening when the Penguins traded for him, to me, I think those who believe he could step into PIT's top four right now is insane - he's barely even cracked the top six and even that is questionable

Clendening is only 22 and defensemen usually take longer to develop. I definitely think he has potential, but it will be difficult to crack the Pens lineup with all the young defensemen they have.

I don't disagree with this, my point is just that so far, he hasn't shown that he can be that type of player yet - and to say that he can jump into the top four right now is not that reasonable when you consider, as you mentioned, the glut of young defensemen they have and the fact that a team like Pittsburgh needs to win now and to put someone like that in a top four role is asking a lot(but I guess to put any of those young d-men in that spot would be asking for a lot)

Jimmy Rutherford has made some pretty good moves this off-season, ergo he'd due for a bad one. Mason Raymond for Adam Clendening, thanks okay bye.

I'd say Burke & Co. are due for a bad one. Where's the 2015 Mason Raymond and Derek Engellund signings?

Giordano wants to test the market. I say high time to move him for someone signed long term.
