:L So a team accomplishment that you can write out on a resume would make them better? You're kidding right?

Not joking at all. Achieving the ultimate goal in sports looks better on your resume, yes. This is why Brady is so much better than Peyton. Winning the big game means something.

I'm just using it as an example. Favre is the all time leading passer in almost every single category. Is he the best that ever played? No.
i get your point, but youre going off the rails a bit.

marino was a great QB. saw him a lot rowing up. 2 of my saddest memories of marino...his arm literally dying at foxboro, got pulled early...no zip on the ball.
1999

1-3, 8 yards, and a pick

pulled

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots - October 17th, 1999 | Pro-Football-Reference.com

walked off running his arm in a circle trying to get feeling back.
that, and the jax playoff loss...what 62-7?

tough to watch.

No. Brady is better than Peyton because he is a better QB at this point. 5-8 years ago, it was Peyton.

Huh? A coach can't play defense, or offense for that matter. The QB is the player with the single-greatest correlation to the outcome of the game.

Vick sucked big time against the Ravens and the Chargers. The Steelers almost beat the Ravens and beat the Chargers.

When Ben was suspended for 4 games in 2010, our offense averaged around 150 total yards, and the team was 3-1.

Tom Brady threw 2 INTs and no TDs, with a below average performance against the Ravens in the 2011 AFCCG, and the Patriots still won.

There are many more examples, but these are just off the top of my head.

when you brought up a totally different argument in emmit being the all time leading rusher = greatest ever argument people make, in a discussion about QB's and titles.

Ooooh ok. I thought when you ignored somebody, their threads would stop popping up as well as their posts.

It was just another example to show my argument that accomplishments don't make you better. I don't see it as going off the rails.

Sure. And a pitcher can give up 7 runs and still get a win. And a goalie can give up 5 goals and still get a win. None of this changes the QB's impact on the game.

For their careers, Peyton is the better overall QB.

I disagree. Peyton is the greatest regular season QB of all-time. But it gets old watching him turn into a pumpkin in the playoffs every year. Meanwhile Brady has won 4 Super Bowls. I'll take that guy.

That's just an opinion fabricated by the media. Brady plays for a better organization and better team. That's the only difference for their careers really. Peyton is the better prototypical QB.

Also. Marino > Montana. Just so everyone knows where I stand on the accomplishment argument. You put Marino on that team, you get the same thing, if not better results.
