If he's as good a baseball player as he is a football player, then I favor him making a career change.

I'm sure he's strongly considering it

In the article I read Wilson said he'd like to come down and work out with the team during Spring training.

I like this line from the article which tells something that all Seahawks fans already know : "We talk to our scouts about the makeup we want of our players and the work ethic it takes to win, and Russell Wilson has been an example of that," Daniels said. "He has off-the-charts character and focus."

He can't hit...

If he could... .he would have never gone to Wisconsin, and never put on a Football uniform again.

Exactly. He can't hit the curve. It makes perfect sense to try to go for baseball. Possibly longer career due to less chance for injury. Very good money if in the star echelon. Easier training camps and playing the game in the summer instead of the winter. Take a shot at baseball and if it doesn't work out, go back to football. I am thankful he did this since I think scouts also questioned his focus on being a football player. May have also contributed to a lower scouting rank for him.

Ya but with football you play 16 games a season compared to 2000 games (roughly) per year in baseball. Baseball schedules are ridiculous. Per game football players make more money.

Yes, per game, but a pro athlete is training year round regardless. I imagine average NFL career is much shorter than avg. MLB career. I don't actually know the numbers, but based on odds of injury alone, it seems baseball would have a longer career. I could be wrong though. Just spitballin.

I would think of any position NFL quarterbacks have the longest careers though, excluding people who play on special teams exclusively.

Sorry guys, guess you are going to have to hear about this nonstop in your primetime games like everyone had to do last season every single time Kaep threw a pass..."that's the fastball he has from his days in baseball".

They've been doing that with Wilson since game one. At least once a game someone says, "Russell Wilson, drafted by the Rockies, blah, blah, blah"

If he were as good a baseball player as he is a football player he'd still be playing baseball right now in Colorado.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous. There's quite a few guys in baseball who could have probably ended up in the NFL if they chose that path.
