i hope they dont make the mistake of giving gilbert to them.. mariners draft at#14.angel's draft at #17

but there are not a lot of guys with better numbers..any guys with over 400 batting ave that are juniors or above should be mentioned...so here is a list of guys with over 400 batting ave..and a few at the end that do not

greg cullen..ss ..niagara..while niagara is a small school ..it is still D1..457 ave
devlin granberg R/R 6-2 240..LF dallas baptist..he is a senior with a 418 ave 644 slg 10HR 19 SB 1 cs...i will take him at #3 in 3.0
andrew moritz..cf...unc greensboro cf 421 ave
brent spillane 1B ..407 ave illinos
chase chambers 1B..tenn tech 4 16 ave
luke reynolds so miss 3B 403

that is 8 draftable guys with a better than 400 ba

deshawn keirsey ..CF.utah.. 397 ba 4 HR's 6-4sb-cs..the ave is good ...the rest not so much..but i would still take him

all these guys have good numers and have done a good job this year

one thing to note...is that numbers do not support the..rankings..(some people and they politics ) of some players like rolision..where his numbers are not the greatest and his ceiling is not high
he is still a good LHP../which is also making him higher rated

rolison's numbers....3.87 era 88 ip 104 so.........that is good
kyle bradish....new mexico state for example ....2.98 era 87 ip 126 so is not rated as high...but i(me) think he is better

and really a lot of these guy could be off the board by the time the mariners pick at those picks...there seemed to be a lot of LF type guys..but finding what i like in a RF was much more difficult

and finding short stops was as well so i just went with middle infield guys
there does not seem to be tons and tons of LHp so ya have to take them where you think you can get them

and thank goodness that is done.. i may add a few players but no more mocks...lol

with respect to trevor larnach...i would not pick him in the first round cuz i dont think guys who are 6-4 control the strike
zone as well as guys who are smaller
but someone will maybe even the mariners...but i also think it plays better in the national league

and it just reminds me of saunders..even when he was in toronto..he was still not that good..and that is the best he was

i would much rather take.. bren spillane 1B illinois in a later round ..he has .high... obp.. ba ..slg... HR's
aaaand can steal bases as well

and can at least play first if i am going to take a chance..on it at all

going by fan graphs mock on who the mariners are on and who they are not...i stayed with mostly the same guys but switched the order of which drafted and i finally found a short stop i could live with

#1 i just don't see.. larnash OF (oregon) being ranked this high.. i can see india..and torres but i need ..gilbert
and i need the ANGELS.. NOT to get him...
and a lot of guys can hit HR's..there is a whole 100 slot D1 stat page full of them
not as many can pitch as good as gilbert...go ahead 4 years.. baring injury..gilbert is still on top..and even better and stronger

NOTE; HS recruiting if you have followed SCOUT.com at all in the past is not all that easy....doing right by the kid and his future and at the same time doing right by the organization...so that is a tall order....if..and this is an assumption that they have guys like ..carlson... going to a community collage or an online collage..then a lot of the ..academics could be takin care of that way...but for social, and some specific majors..i would think that that route would fall short
if it is a major like accounting that is easily done online..for example..it would not be a prob
