I know your act. You were the same guy clamoring for Micheal Bishop and Tommy Hodson to play back in the day. You probably thought Ryan Mallett was going to be a superstar, as well. And now you think Stidham is the next Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings. I get it. Everyone loves to imagine the backup QB is some future star just waiting for his opportunity. I hate to burst that bubble, but Stidham has nothing. They need to upgrade over him, because he is just not a pro QB. And if you think that Stidham is a better option than a veteran like Mariota right now, you are completely hopeless.

I was largely in favor of starting Bishop over Bledsoe. I fucking hated Bledsoe and Brady proved me right.

Mariota is only going to be on the block again because he isn’t willing to take a pay cut. You can’t kill the guy for that.

And why is he being asked to take a pay cut?
Because there is zero chance that he will be a starter, but with nfl experience and a year in grudens system he has a minuscule amount of backup value.
Stidham has a couple of years in the BB/JM system and on his rookie contract brings more value and potential. Mary brings no potential.

We took Stid in the 4th if memory calls. Mariotta was the 2nd overall pick, as I stated no one expected Stidham to beat out TB 12. But when you take a kid #2 overall are willing to cut him lose, and then his new team asks him to take a pay cut, seems the better value is in that 4th round pick
