If he wants to make some bank he needs a trade now.Wonder what his agent is thinking. A one year deal showing he still has it might help him get a contract but then he would be 32.
Happy birthday Stephon!

We have a lot of good cornerbacks. There are some stories out there but nothing concrete.
The Arizona Cardinals were interested in getting Gilmore before the draft if you remember but nothing got done. Yesterday it was stated that they contacted the patriots about him again. According to the locals, there are other team that supposedly in touch about acquiring him if the patriots deem a trade necessary. The Saints, Raiders, Lions, Raven, Texans and Falcons have all been mentioned.
I'm not BB and but I know that trading Gilmore would change th man to man secondary that is employed about 95% of the time. Sherman is he was to come aboard is more of a zone coverage guy because he just doesn't have the speed anymore. Mills hs shown well in practice but that's practice.
J. Jones seems best suited for the slot. No one else has broken away from the Pack. There's been the hope that J. Willims might get sprked up but he doesn't look like he' going to be more than ST.
Here's a list of guys still available:
2020 NFL Free Agents: Cornerbacks
- Byron Jones, CB, Cowboys. Age: 27. ...
- James Bradberry, CB, Panthers. Age: 27. ...
- Chris Harris, CB, Broncos. Age: 31. ...
- Desmond Trufant, CB, Falcons. Age: 29. ...
- Darqueze Dennard, CB, Bengals. Age: 28. ...
- Xavier Rhodes, CB, Vikings. Age: 30. ...
- Bradley Roby, CB, Texans. Age: 28. ...
- Jimmy Smith, CB, Ravens.
I don't like it.There are some stories out there but nothing concrete.

Camp meat. The New England Patriots are expected to sign wide receiver Devin Ross to the 90-man roster, Mike Reiss of ESPN reported Monday.
Ross recently participated in New England’s three-day mandatory minicamp on a tryout basis, wearing No. 87.
It marked a return to the Gillette Stadium backfields for Ross, who originally signed to New England’s practice squad in the fall of 2019 after stints with the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles. The 25-year-old target remained with the Patriots through training camp last summer and began the regular season on the scout team before his October release.
Undrafted out of Colorado in 2018, Ross finished eighth in Buffaloes history in receptions, 12th in receiving yards and tied for 19th in receiving touchdowns.
The 5-foot-9, 192-pound wideout is now on track to join a depth chart that includes Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry, Gunner Olszewski, Isaiah Zuber, Kristian Wilkerson, Devin Smith, Marvin Hall and rookie draft choice Tre Nixon.
The Patriots signed offensive lineman R.J. Prince, a fellow minicamp tryout, last Thursday as specialists Roberto Aguayo and Wes Farnsworth were waived. The series of moves left an opening on the roster with training camp on the horizon.
Don't be shocked if Richard Sherman is signed before training camp. He and BB have had a love/hte relationship and it's been more love in the past 12 or 13 years. He's wants to play with a winning team and thinks the Pats are the team to be with. I think he'd be a great 6th DB or situational fill at safety.
A little ripple is starting to get moving. Pats and Gilmore are talking and it appears that he will get a new contract and this one will not be torn up. From what I saw, it will be $14M, $16M, $18M. He'll get a an $8M signing bonus and it will all be guaranteed. Somehow his cap hit will be $14M and not $17M. I can never figure how these guys do their math. My math says that he'll get the bonus in 2021 ($16.6M + $2M) $18.6Mand that will be spread over the next 4 years at $2M per. The remaining years with bonus would be $16M, $18M and $20M. But what do I know?
Stanford Grad yeah he's gotta be smart. I think smart enough to know he would have to adjust his demeanor. Can he be a #1 CB no we don't need thatm #2 Maybe but we are loaded at the position. Not sure he tackles well or aggressively enough for safety. So unless we are going to zone schemes where is his fit?My prediction is the Pats and Gilmore come to terms on a new deal. Gilmore plays this entire season healthy and plays well. Next season, right before the start of the season, Gilmore gets traded for a 3rd round pick and an unknown special teams player. Gilmore gets hurt early and never plays up to his potential again. Special Teams player becomes a NE favorite.
I don't think Sherman could play in NE. I know he's supposed to be smart but I'm not sure he would fit in.
And Duggar is supposed to be goodAs a starting caliber CB he is toast.
As a situational CB/Safety, he could be a semi valuable asset.
I would rather have the McCourty Twins together, but that ship sailed. I do not think Sherman brings anything McCourty did not, except maybe the price tag?
A second from a team projected in the lower third is fine. Anyone else needs to be a first. This is QB position and requires a premium. It's been mentioned several times on NBCSports Boston that Stidham will most likely be traded by August 27.
Now the rumors are starting to be whispered. The Texans supposedly have made multiple inquiries about getting him. Caserio liked him last year and wanted to see him get more opportunities. Possibly another reason for his departure? Anyway, from all of the smoke, a 2022 second round pick is the rumor that they have offered.
If we see a lot of Stidham in the first two preseason games, he could well be the starter for the Texans in their third.
