Shefter reported on his podcast that the leading contenders for Rosen are the Giants, Dolphins, and Chargers. At the minimum the Chargers late 1st and the Giants and Dolphins 2nd round pick trumps our 2nd.

I am an admitted Cooley "mark" when it comes to player evaluation. He's been right too many times in the past. He has basically been saying for a month or two that Haskins is gonna be a bust.

It's looking like he might be there at 15
Cooley being down on him scares me.

No worries man, If Haskins is a bust, he'll be named as an honorary member of the New Spurrier Club whose new members (Haskins, Keenum and McCoy) will rival its' previous members ( Ramsey, Wuerffel and Matthews):D

BTW: I'm going to disagree with Cooley on this one, unless they mishandle him for the sake of putting more asses in seats by playing him too quickly, Haskins will be counted as one of the better leaders in the organization's history!

NFL.com Draft 2018 - NFL Draft History: Full Draft Year

I hope that you are not suggesting that the Skins need to keep Haskins (or any highly drafted QB) on the bench for most/all of his 1st season. That flat just doesn't happen in this era in the NFL & for numerous reasons (it is not all about the live gate which frankly doesn't mean all that much in today's NFL).

Take a look at all NFL QBs drafted in the 1st rd over the last 5+ years. They were pretty much made starters if not at the beginning of the season then shortly thereafter. This isn't the 90s - young QBs are too much of a commodity to not play them rt away. Their value comes early when they make relatively little. They can only justify getting big $$ after they prove themselves on the field & the only way for that to happen is to get more snaps.

Perhaps you are not suggesting this. In any case - any QB drafted in the early 1st rd by the Skins (or just about any team) will be a starter likely by midseason. He is not going to spend an entire season riding the pine.

Gruden doesn't want Haskins. He on record saying Haskins is gonna take time. He is also on record saying that he wants someone that can make an immediate impact at 15.

Haskins went to school with Snyder's son and they are good friends.

If they take Haskins at 15 they will say a lot about how they feel toward Gruden. I'm sure they are down Gruden anyway, but Allen and Snyder have yet to get a QB right. Cousins was Shanahan.

I hope Haskins can play, because right now my money is on them taking him if he's there.

I most certainly am suggesting this! So let's dispel the myths from the facts. Sitting whether it's one game or all 16 has value even today. It's all a matter of perspective. Here are the facts from 2007 to 2013:

Barring an already made deal, today is the last day that Arizona can maximize trade value for Rosen. If there's no deal by COB today they will be forced to take a greatly reduced offer for him. In that event they are likely to keep him and either take Bosa or trade down for more picks. I wonder if there's any team willing to trade up for the #1 spot?

Sty, there could be a bidding war for Rosen right up to and after the Cardinals pick. There is no reason why they can't be on the phone with two or three teams while they are on the clock.

If the Cards take Bosa then of course the trade is off for Rosen and then turns to whether Oakland will stay at 4 or be willing to trade the pick to a team that wants Murray.

JOSH ROSENQB, ARIZONA CARDINALS

NBC Sports Washington's J.P. Finlay reports the Redskins "will be in the hunt" to trade for Josh Rosen.
Momentum had cooled on all Rosen-to-Washington talks of late, but the Skins are reportedly on the prowl again now that the Cards officially drafted Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray No. 1 overall. The Redskins will undoubtedly be competing with the Chargers, Dolphins, and Giants to acquire Rosen once all first-round dominoes fall. As it stands, the Arizona Republic's Kent Somers noted Arizona doesn't currently have a deal in place.
