Eh who cares, he'll be injured in a week anyways. His tear breakdown and "the fans deserved this" bullshit was pretty epic fail but he's a free agent next season so it makes sense. Try to do/say anything possible to get that contract.

I'll be more impressed when he can go 50 games without an injury.

If it weren't for his injuries, can you imagine how good this guy would be right now? He'd probably be in the same sentence with LeBron, Curry and KD.

Probably not.

His playing style doesn't fit the modern era so well. Too dribble drive dependent.

No... Paul and Harden probably, though.

Worked well for him last game lol

Sure. There are quite a few guys who have had 50 point games that don't belong anywhere near those 3.

To be a superstar in today's NBA, you really need to be able to score efficiently at all 3 levels. Rose has never been able to do that.

No matter how you feel about Rose it is surprising, probably on a comparable level to when Corey Brewer scored 51. Utah is a great defensive team.

Brewer's was much more impressive.....he's made a career out of being a defender.

Rose has always been a capable scorer.

Brewer was at the peak of his career when he did that, started 81 games and averaged 32 minutes that season. Certainly he was always quite limited as a scorer in the pros. There were a number of improbable things that had to happen for Rose to even have the opportunity that game opened up on a competitive team. Those are incalculable, so just calling it how I perceive it.

Brewer averaged 13ppg that season. And is a career 9ppg scorer.

Rose is a 19ppg career scorer and has an MVP to his name.

It's not even close really.

I looked up Rose's game logs. The last time he scored more than 34 in a game was 2011. It wouldn't be close if we were in the early 2010s. It's 2018 and it's been surprising to a lot of people he's even in the league.

Rose has always been rather on the reliant end of the spectrum toward athleticism to score and we're past two major knee injuries.

The Fact you can score 50 points after that many knee surgeries is amazing in itself. Rose was a sure-fire HOFer until all this crap happened. Its a shame.

Not to mention that said style was always going to be prone to injuries one way or another.
