Ellis is used to having the ball in his hands, but we'll see. I don't think they will go very deep into the playoffs either way.

I think Dallas make it to the 2nd round at least. Picking conference finals team in the west is a waste of time. There about 6 teams who I can see in the conference finals

Why would Rondo & Ellis explode? Rondo is a true pass first point guard and Ellis is a shooting guard.

Don't see the issue

Look at Ellis's usage rate. He leads the Mavs. Both Ellis and Rondo like having the ball in their hands. Similar situation with Curry in Golden State. Doesn't mean it will blow up, but there will definitely have to be a big adjustment in Ellis's game, more so than anyone else on the Mavs.

It's certainly making the west tougher.

good move by Mavs...if he meshes well, he'll resign long term. If not, it will be a bidding war that we know will include Lakers in the mix.

I feel bad for Nelson. He left Orlando because he wanted to play on a winning team and Dallas trades him a month and a half into the seasonn.

I agree. It could backfire or be a great move.

Dallas won't do the trade unless he agrees to an extension first is what I read. They have 30 days.

Sacramento could have offered a better package than the Mavs.

The Celtics already have Olynk and Zeller (not to mention Favareni) at center. Now they have 4 with Wright.

Rondo is the one PG that fits without question. He knows how to share the ball with multiple stars......this is as close to a sure thing as there is in a trade. The issue is keeping everyone healthy, not him fitting in.

A fine example of quantity over quality. When you break it down:

Both Olynyk and Wright are not true centers. Not in the NBA. They are 4's who sometimes masquerade as 5's.

Zeller is a "cute" player with decent hands and touch around the basket. He is also a walking foul machine. He is much better suited to a backup role.

Faverani has been injured all season and hasn't proved much of anything at all in the NBA.

-------------

It doesn't matter anyway. The C's are in full rebuild now... Ainge is going to be wheeling and dealing and thinking about the future.

It's a solid move for Dallas. The one real risk for them this season isn't if Rondo will fit but if the front court can stay healthy. Wright was a very good player for them so losing him hurts their depth quite a bit. But they're banking on that starting 5 being good enough to over come that and it should be.

Initially I was surprised Boston didn't get more for Rondo but when I thought about after seeing the headlines, it makes a lot more sense. The market just isn't there for him now that A)He's gonna be a FA B)The league is loaded at PG C) There are some slight concerns he's not as good as he use to be

Rondo is going to be great for dallas and those shooters. Ellis is going to get a lot of open shots. I really do like this move for the Mavs. Best team in the west talent wise I think. Overall at the starting 5. Spurs are still the spurs come playoff time but Mavs just got a lot better right now.

Gonna have to move Jameer, barea, or Devon.

I wouldn't trade b wright cuz Tyson has been known to get hurt.

Rondo if healthy can lock a guard down on D too
