This would make the Mavs a scary team. I think they would be better then Houston with this pick up. I wonder what Boston would get.

This would also be a nice fit to pair him with Davis and the others( Evans and Gordon)

If Im Boston I would want (2) 1st rd picks, Holiday and Rivers.

Holiday would have to be in trade to make the money part work. Holiday makes 10 mill and Rondo makes 12 mill

I LOVE Wright, but trade him and picks (which we waste anyways) and whatever else it takes for salary matching, then sign Rondo long term and get Wright back in the offseason as a FA

If Im Boston and I was trading with Dallas I would want Wright(5 mill), 2 1st rd picks(They aren't good ones ) and to make salary match D. Harris (3.8 million) or Nelson(2.7 mill) or Felton(3.7 mill) and maybe a guy like Jae Cowder.

Take it. Take any of them. Prefer to keep Harris in Dallas, but any of the rest. Crowder is a waste of minutes.

IMO Danny has too many picks. He simply cannot Roster these upcoming drafts. If he goes for picks he needs to dump 4 or 5 by spring and get a major center piece. That still leaves him with 5 or 6 picks in round 1.

I still think Lakers can be in mix, but they need to sell Randle and do so low

Dallas has yet to beat a single playoff team in the West.

I think they realize they need to throw a Hail Mary attempt to shake that dubious stat up a bit.

Ellis and Rondo could implode spectacularly....or it might be a weird thing that works...

I guess its worth the risk.

Wow, that must be really embarrassing for all the teams below us.

Report: Lakers offered Steve Nash, draft picks for Rondo | ProBasketballTalk

You have to think Lakers will need to package something more. I just dont know what

Yeah, was out running some errands and heard Jay Mohr say that Ramona Shelburne tweeted that the Lakers were in the mix and the offer was picks and Nash's expiring contract.

Agree that it seems like the Lakers would need to add more to the deal. Maybe Randle or Clarkson? Ed Davis? The only way that I see the Lakers getting him without adding more is if Rondo tries to force his way to L.A., which I doubt he'd do.

Gonna be interesting because Rondo being traded to somebody seems like it's going to happen very, very soon.

No way I see Lakers getting rid of Randle.

Probably not, but I think it could at least be looked at. Davis has done a great job at PF and is young. His development could make keeping Randle less necessary. Plus, Rondo is a gigantic upgrade at point guard and fixes a weakness that the Lakers have had for years.

If I am Boston no way I take that trade. Doesn't really help them. Yes freeing them up of Nash salary is good but Houston pick is garbage.

They would have to include a future first rounder in 2020 or 2021. Even then, there seems to better rumors out there.

The first rounders from a Dallas trade would be garbage as well then seeing as Dallas' picks would likely be late first rounders as well. That's always going to be the thing trading with a contending team.

Sounds all but guaranteed now that he's headed to the Mavs. Sounds like Crowder/Wright/1st is the basse of it. Another team may hop in though

Yeah, the picks will just make it look like they got something, but as far as the value of the player they are likely to get from them, there isn't likely to be much. Picks that they could get from the Mavs, Rockets or Lakers (because it's the Rockets pick) will likely be traded away anyhow.

It'll come down to the players that each team is willing to part with and how important the cap space freed by Nash's expiring contract is to them.

Danny Ainge is usually pretty good at getting fair value (or more) in a trade.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this. The C's already have a fair bit of extra draft picks.

Can the C's get value for Rondo?
