The Mavs have 3 backup PG's & no backup center behind the brittle Tyson Chandler.

They'll go to a 3 guard lineup when he isn't playing.

No such thing. You can absolutely find a steal in the mid 20's.

It happens certainly, but that's not great value for Rondo. Rondo's value was low though. Danny wanted the Lakers 2015 first rounder which will be top 5 if they keep it. The Lakers said no. Danny wanted McLemore from Sacramento. They said no. So, they end up with a late first in a draft that no one seems to be talking about, unlike last year's, and not much else. Better than getting nothing for him though.

I'm sure another trade or FA signing is coming. But yeah, their season depends on Tyson's health for sure. Without him they would be at a huge disadvantage against teams like MEM, SA, GS, HOU, POR,.... well, basically the entire West. lol

Interested to see how Rondo reacts to this and if he signs an extension. Because, this trade is contingent upon that. Dallas has 30 days and the clock is ticking.

Danny is trying to protect the 60 day window . These players can now be traded this year, in February.

I suspect he will look to continue spinning the assets.

Ellis and Rondo could implode spectacularly....or it might be a weird thing that works...

Why would Rondo & Ellis explode? Rondo is a true pass first point guard and Ellis is a shooting guard.
