Rogers fears it overbid, using cost-cutting measures

Related to the above, although I have no idea what the actual article contains as I do not give James Mirtle money to eat.

Will this impact his ability to call games for NBCSN?

Hmmm, could it be that Sportsnet 650 has nobody worth listening to on their station?

/Satiar Shah being an exception, I like him

There's an article on the Athletic today about Bob McCown's departure from Rogers - Let me summarize it for you. The guy was making too much money (even says that's the reason he stayed on as long as he did) and he was losing to TSN 1050. I used to enjoy listening to McCown, but there's no denying towards the end he became a cantankerous old coot.

He was very bad toward the end. Co-hosting with Richard Deitsch also made no sense whatsoever.

In a hockey mad town I honestly don't think he watched a non-playoff Leaf game for the last 10 years of his hosting. Not that it was must-see TV or anything but I don't think he missed a Jays game in that entire time and the Jays were just as shit for pretty much that entire time.
