I would question the time keeper. Was it an approved stop watch? Did Goofdell switch it out for a malfunctioning one?

Well, he gets paid 20 mil a year. For what you ask. Well, to do everything and anything the owners tell him to do.

Which includes any and all publicity stunts (which is what this is). Of course the most important job is to take the arrows that would otherwise be pointed at them for every insidious decision the owners make.
