I can't help chuckling at the idea that Houston is going to give this moron the head coaching job. Talking going down into the toilet. Howard and D'antoni together on the same time.

My condolences and prayers to the Hardin family - James Hardin deserved better

When you say given in the title, it seems like you think the rockets are doing him a favor. No one wants to coach this team. It's a dumpster fire thanks to the egos of harden and Howard.

Getting D'antoni would be a huge score for the rockets

I can't think of a bigger cast of losers than D'antoni, Howard and Harden.

D'Antoni takes a lot of flack, but his offensive system in Phoenix pretty much spawned the current NBA style. Houston ain't resigning D12 if they end up hiring D'Antoni.

 It was said at the time that part of the reason Dwight didn't re-sign with the Lakers was because they were keeping D'Antoni as coach.

Now the Rockets might hire him. Dwight's gotta be loving that.:pound:

Agree. GSW, the Cavs and OKC all run a version of D'Antoni's system. They are basically showing what a team can do with D'Antoni's offense combined with actually playing defense.

Dwight never fit D'Antoni's system. D'Antoni is a great coach for the type of system he wants to run. The problem is you need the perfect personnel to get this done. You need a dynamic PG, athletic wings and a stretch 4/5.

The NBA in general is shifting towards this type of play and you see a lot more players now capable of running the type of system D'Antoni has pretty much created.

That being said, he'd fail miserably with Harden on his team. He's pretty much the anti-D'Antoni player.

Yeah, there is that other side of the court.

I don't know about that. Dwight is plenty athletic enough to play in that system. He is as athletic as Amare Stoudemire was, but doesn't have the overall offense of Stoudemire. Amare used to get a lot of shots right at the rim, which is where Dwight is most effective, because it uses a lot of pick and roll.

Where he wouldn't be as effective is Amare used to be able to step out and hit 10-15 footers, which isn't happening with Dwight.

I do agree though, that with Dwight they would need a stretch 4 because Dwight is definitely not a stretch 5.

As far as the trio of Harden, Howard and D'Antoni, I don't think Howard wants to stay in Houston.
