Sources: Rockets hopeful NBA acts on blown call

I don’t know if there is any actual steam behind us, but was wondering what your thoughts were. Their argument is giving the win because adding two points would make the game not go into overtime. Replaying the final seven minutes doesn’t make sense either because it’s totally negates the whole comeback that would not likely happen again.

The game already went into two overtimes, if they were to award those two points to Harden, they could play a five minute third overtime period at the beginning of their next match up against each other. Whoever one that five minutes would win the game. in fact, they could play that overtime. After their next match up because then both teams would be tired.

Do you say “too bad, so sad“ because there are blown calls all the time?

Do you say that there was too much time left on the clock so that Houston could have responded? They had seven minutes and a sizable lead.

Do you stick with the original story that they did not challenge in time even though there is controversy on whether there was correct information given to the head coach making the decision?

Or do you make the determination based upon the records of the teams? Even though the Spurs are going to have a bad record and they are not challenging Houston, Houston could be in a battle with another team come playoff time for seeding.

Or just give Harden the points but declare victory to the Spurs?

Or find a bad call the Rockets had the benefit and reverse both?

Can't see the game being replayed. I say they'll get an apology but the game won't be replayed.

I am assuming you are saying they should let it go, but just in case, I am not a Rockets or Harden fan. I’m a Jazz fan. So them losing would actually be good for me, but I was just wondering what other people thought.

concepts transcend the sport.

It's not the same though.

With George Brett, the Royals challenged the application of the rules. The league reviewed and said that the umps misapplied the rules and thus altered the game wrongly.

In the case of the Harden dunk, the refs simply blew the call. They didn't think the ball went into the hoop. They aren't going to replay or change the outcome of a game because of a blown call.

There were clear procedural errors.

and there's even a question about the timing if he challenged it.

And if they said Harden committed "goal tending" then the league absolutely misapplied their own rule.

This is a trainwreck by that clown car crew.

It wasn't the clown crew refs that allowed a poor Spurs team to overcome a 13 point lead with 7:50 remaining.

Probably was. it's the nba and the spurs afterall.

But the time frame is irrelevant.

That was a clear procedural error, not a judgement call.

Replay it from the spot or do the right thing and give the W to the Rockets and move on.

There is no planet where the current end result is the correct one.

Do the right thing and just hand the Rockets the win? LOL. I can always count on you to make the most absurd argument.

It was a judgment call. The refs thought that Harden interfered with the ball while it was in the net. They were wrong but that is 100% a judgment call. The refs determined that the Rockets missed the 30 second window to challenge.

Those are both judgment calls.
