Do the right thing and just hand the Rockets the win? LOL. I can always count on you to make the most absurd argument.

It was a judgment call. The refs thought that Harden interfered with the ball while it was in the net. They were wrong but that is 100% a judgment call. The refs determined that the Rockets missed the 30 second window to challenge.

Those are both judgment calls.

I can always count on you to make the dumbest comments.

But yeah, why should we expect the NBA to ever do the right thing.

Probably was. it's the nba and the spurs afterall.

But the time frame is irrelevant.

That was a clear procedural error, not a judgement call.

Replay it from the spot or do the right thing and give the W to the Rockets and move on.

There is no planet where the current end result is the correct one.

You think that the right thing to do is after the fact award the Rockets 2 additional points in regulation? You don't think that the game may have played out differently had the Rockets been awarded those 2 additional points?

it’s more right than completely ignoring it.

Should the Jazz protest the game last night over the LeBron travel no-call and ask to play the game again from that point? Or should they just get the W, because that's..... right????

Bad calls happen.
Whether it's bad judgment or bad rules, stuff happens.
They should stop posturing for their fans, take the L, and move on.

Maybe from now on, we just replay games whenever a bad call is discovered. We can start with the Saints-Rams NFC championship game last year.

They easily should've replayed both title games.

But the NFL got what it wanted, so they said nothing.

Of course. We can turn sports into court cases. Sounds awesome.

if it gets the corrupt out of the game. I'll take it.

the crap the NFL has pulled over the years has been an absolute joke. Easily overturnable, but they've ignored it because they get what they want in the end.

You've been whining about refs in every sport for 10+ years.

I agree with almost everything in this post.

However, where the refs messed up was in not reviewing the call and I've never heard of a 30 second window, at least not on something like that.

Imo, it should have been handled the same way they handle it when there is question on whether a basket was a 2 or 3 point shot. They wait until a stop in play, review it and then adjust the score if necessary.

Having said that, it also doesn't mean that the refs screwed up beyond missing the call. If the rule is different between a shot like that and a 3 point shot and there really is a 30 second window, then the rule needs to be fixed.

End of the day though, the Rockets shouldn't have blown a 13 point lead against a team that will likely barely be a playoff team, if they even make the playoffs.

which is why i'm a big proponent of the robo strike zone.

Oh, it's coming.
I can't wait.
Good pitchers won't get the extra calls and bad pitchers will get calls they normally don't.

In my mind, everything in baseball should be reviewed and decided upon within a minute by looking at replay.

It really shouldn't slow the game down.
Somebody up above should reviewing everything just in case and it should just be a matter of a headset call to the head ump to tell them what happened. No need for them to see it.

Reviewing plays wouldn't help with this :

I believe the difference is that with a 2 point/3 point shot there is an automatic review. With Harden's dunk there is no automatic review. The coach must challenge the play. In that situation, the coach has 30 seconds to challenge the play.

yeah, this is definitely a problem for the casual fans.

Based on the rule book (8.04), a pitcher has 12 seconds to throw a pitch if there is nobody on base or a ball is automatically called.

It's just never enforced.
