Pleasant stats for your Tuesday evening pleasure.
We are now 139 games into the season and we continue to wonder why team management still believes Mitch Garver will turn his season around. So, for a quick update. Since July 27th Mitch has 4 hits in his last 48 at bats. His slash over that time is: .083/.214/.125/.389.

So why does he keep getting plate appearances? The answer is simple and two fold. 1. The team offense really sucks that much that he is a preferred option against left-handed pitchers. 2. The cheapskate ownership will not accept defeat and throw in the towel on a player they invested $25 million in no matter how badly he is killing the team.
And let's not blame Dan Wilson. He doesn't want this, doesn't deserve this, but this is what he is stuck with.

I say Jerry gets what Jerry wants. He won't bench his biggest free agent hitting signing.

The warm fuzzies from the "mystique" of Dan and Edgar has just about worn off. Even faster than i originally though, lol.

Catch 22 situation for our dipshit owners. Guarantee they don't necessarily want to get rid of Jerry since revenue is fine and dandy PLUS they'd rather Jerry be the punching bag rather than themselves. But the shrieking chorus of fans who really think a new gm will solve anything more than a new skipper and hitting coach did are about to hit full temper tantrum mode. Will be fascinating to see what our clown owners choose to do.

I feel bad for Wilson and Edgar. They were set up for failure. Whatever happens this year I hope the fans don't blame those guys.

Well if the home/road splits keep up for these guys then I think there is a solid chance they would want extensions. The Ray comp is a good one for basically the entire staff. When they are on, they are on but when off it can get ugly. With this staff this offseason is going to be very interesting cause realistically all of could end up being traded or Kirby, Gilbert, Miller and Woo could get an extension.

I agree, but yet teams like Texas last and the Royals and Orioles this year all did it. It takes baseball smarts and commitment which are two things we don't have.

They are a good winter away though, we know ownership won’t do what it takes though. They have the money and prospect capital. But they also have the pitching staff to do a full rebuild too.
