The defense started awful, allowing 34.5ppg in the first 2 games but they have settled down and are giving up just 22.3ppg the last 6 games. Still needs a little work but it's getting better week by week. A lot of new pieces on the defense had to learn to play together.

Had to go to the store, didnt see the end, but the Raiders are playing down to opponents. I believe they are much better then they have been the last few weeks. But a W is a W.

I agree but bottom line they are 6-2 and have a lot of new pieces trying to figure out where they belong on the defense.

RAIDER defense playing alot better.. The bad news is the injury to Sean Smith and how bad it is?? Dude has been playing good ball.. The good news is, Hayden and Carrie are playing great ball.. Those guys shut down Evans.. RAIDERS are deep at RB.. Bring on the Donks!!

Hayden was awful on a couple plays yesterday. He's gone after the season imo.

I really like Carrie and Amerson has been excellent.

I would add to that though that they have played some down right terrible offenses during that time. When they have played a top-16 scoring offense they have given up 31.5 points per game. The other 4 teams outside of the top-16 they are averaging giving up only 19.5 points per game. So not sure they have played better just lesser competition during this 6 game stretch.

Here pretty soon we will see what the Bronco offense does?? AFCW lead on the line.. Rumors have RAIDERS and Bronco's are interested in trading for that Jets DT?? Hmmm

Makes sense. Both teams have a bit of a hole at the DT/DE position and I would bet the Jets are at a point they know there is very little chance they make the playoffs.

Now as far as the Broncos offense they are ranked 13th ahead of the Chiefs. The Broncos haven't been a consistent offense but when playing bad defenses they have actually looked pretty good so chance they can get the offense going especially as it look like Sean Smith won't be able to play.

You are really selling the RAIDER D short.. But cool, i hope your coaches a players feel the same..
I mean you have a leaky OL, a banged up rookie RB, and a QB that's all over the place..
Ya, losing Smith for just this game will hurt no doubt.. But we good with Carrie and Hayden and Amerson..
Carrie and Hayden held your WRs in check last year.. Now im not saying they will this year, but that's who we rolling with..

I would be willing to part with a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He only has this season and next season left on his contract and he isn't the cheapest player in the world next year. You throw in his off the field issues and I'm just not willing to part with a 1st round pick even if he is talent wise worth that much.

How am I selling it short? Has your defense been good this year? You can say take out those 1st 2 games of the year but then I can say take out the 2 games against the 2 worst offenses and see how they look. Total defense they are ranked 31st in the NFL. Only the Browns have looked worse in yards given up. They have been bad against both the pass and run this year giving up huge chunks of yards. I wouldn't call them the worst defense in the NFL but I think people would have trouble arguing they are any better than maybe 22nd in the league right now.

Now that doesn't mean the Broncos offense will have their way with this defense as divisional games it does seem like teams crack down a bit and the Broncos offense has been inconsistent at best but if there is a game where I feel like the Broncos could get this offense on the right track it would be against the Raiders who have just struggled mightily for a good part of this season.

Also not sure how you can say "we good with Carrie and Hayden and Amerson." Again that pass defense has been terrible this year giving up 8.1 yards per attempt and a QB rating of 95.5. So many more things I could point out but so far this year they have been a unit that has struggled beyond Amerson.

cd, i was watching some Good Morning Football, and some dude on there was saying he doubts a huge trade for one of those elite players would happen.. So who knows on that front??

And agreed on what you would give, as i would give that as well.. The guy is an elite talent, and could change the balance of power when paired with players like Mack, Miller, etc,etc

Most likely there is not a big trade made. Most years you can bank on that being the case. I will say though the Broncos have been one of the most aggressive teams at the trade deadline since Elway took over. They were minutes away from the sound of it last year from getting Joe Thomas. So while I'm not expecting anything it wouldn't shock me if the Broncos traded for Richardson. I would be a bit shocked if the Raiders did just because this FO hasn't shown that they are big spenders. Given though they haven't been contenders either at this point in the season so maybe that is why they haven't been buyers in this market.

I can tell you write articles dude!!

Our defense started out bad cd, giving up crazy yards!! The RAIDERS made changes by inserting the rookie Joseph and Riley which totally made them better.. But the damage was already done to the stats..
Now do they still give up some yards, yup!! But so does your D..
Mack and Irvin have turned it up, and the D as a whole is playing fast.. They are getting used to playing with each other.. Another crazy stat?? The RAIDERS are top 3 in getting TOs, and you know what that means??

Our pass D has started to gel cd.. See Hurns, Robinson, Evans, etc, etc.. They are getting better, MUCH better

Every team gives up some yards but we are talking the difference in over a hundred yards between our 2 defenses and well points are not even close. So no comparing our 2 defenses just like I wouldn't try to compare our 2 offenses. To me I look at it as the Raiders have had 2 good outputs by the defense in the Titans game and the Jaguars game. Every other game they have given up 24 or more points. The Broncos defense this year hasn't given up more than 23 points in a game. And that is with us playing teams like the Chargesr twice and the Falcons. So not like we are playing scrub offenses. WE have played better offenses than the Raiders bring to the field and the Raiders have allowed more than 24 points to much lesser offenses than what the Broncos are bringing to Oakland. Not saying you guys don't have a chance because you guys are a good team but just having watched most of the Raiders games that defense goes beyond just being bad in those first 2 games. I mean Chiefs could have put up more than 26 if they really wanted to but were dominating they just played clock management. The Ravens have been one of the worst offenses in football and they gave up 27 to them. Chargers put up 31 and should have put up more but some terrible turnovers.

Disagree on not being big spenders, cuz Reggie is a smart spender.. Huge difference.. We have one of the highest paid OLs in the league cd.. Reggie loves him some OL and values them big time!!
This ain't the great Al Davis running the team anymore.. If you can play you will get paid, Reggie ball.. With smart contracts!!

Now we will see what happens at the trade deadline.. I would hate to see Richardson going to the AFCW other than the RAIDERS!! I think it will cost a first round pick to land him, imo.. Suddenly the Cowboys are looking into Richardson as well..

I think you misunderstood what I said. I said the Raiders at the trade deadline have not been big spenders. Now maybe some of that is they haven't been in contention so no reason to spend on a player when you are out of the season anyway. I would say though really only the Broncos and Patriots of recent history have consistently been aggressive during the trade deadline. Both teams have already made moves this year. Most teams though just don't like to give up draft picks during this time of the season. Belichick said that teams for some reason are really afraid to ever pull the trigger during this time which baffles him because great chance to improve your team for a Super Bowl run. Now that the Raiders are relevant we will have to see if they fall in line with the other 30 NFL teams or if they will join the Broncos and Patriots of being willing to be aggressive during this time of year.

Again cd im not saying we have the best defense in the AFCW at all.. Im saying they are playing better as a unit.. They are starting to gel as a defensive team cd.. I know that's weird to you, but that happens when you add a lot of new moving parts to a defense.. Some teams gel from the get go, others through out the seasons..

Great Ds can be beat cd.. Heck Cutler and the Bears just beat what most say is the BEST D in the league!!
